Thread: Odd...

Sometimes when i wake up in the middle of the night it feels as though i have fallen about 10 feet into my bed. It sorta creeps me out.

I'm wondering if this ever happens to somebody it seems to happen to me about once a month or so.

I don't know if its the same but I had experiences similar to this since I was a kid.
It usually follows a sensastion of falling in some hole or slipping down the stairs in my dreams. (atleast I think it does)
I would suddenly wake up any time in the night, and furiously jerk my legs as if I had just tripped or fallen down.
I don't like these experiences at all, and I've been having them since I was a kid, though they happened only once a month or so, they happened on a regular basis. But I don't remember having them for a few months now.

AdMireD, you're describing what's called a Hypnic Jerk. Although I'm not sure that's the same thing z1 is talking about. I feel like something like that has happened to me, but I can't be too sure. z1, do you think you could explain what you're experiencing a little bit more please?
