Thread: My 1st Lucid Dream!!!

So the other night I had my first lucid dream! I was so happy! The day before I was moving and doing a lot of heavy lifting and so that night I went home and passed out, sleeping for like ten hours. I am not sure if physical exhaustion contributes to the ability to lucid dream, but I think that might be what did it for me. Anyway....that night I had a bunch of really crazy, vivid dreams. Here is how it played out:

I was dreaming that I was baby sitting for this very large family. We were just talking and playing around. This part of the dream wasn't too memorable, but after a while we all decided to go outside and cruise the neighborhood. There was just weird stuff happening outside, and I think this is what caused me to think about the possibility that I might be dreaming. It kind of hit me at once, and I realized that I WAS dreaming in fact. I started running around as fast as I could, trying to fly, because that is what I enjoy most about dreams. I couldn't get off the ground, but I managed to run incredibly fast. I ran back inside and my real life family was chilling out in this living room. I felt the need to tell someone that I was dreaming, so I ran up to my mom and explained to her that this is all just a dream and I am lucid. She seemed understanding, but all of a sudden she and my brother and another person all pulled out butter knives. I felt like I had found out a secret I wasn't supposed to know. They cornered me and started trying to stab me. I managed to dodge and ward off their stabbing motions, but I grabbed my brothers hand and drove the knife into his chest. It made a long cut down his chest which began to open up like a zipper, and inside of him was glowing. He fell onto me and everything went dark, and I finally woke up. It was an incredible dream!

Obviously I need to work on my control over the dreams, but just having this experience for the first time after months of logging my dreams was amazing to say the least. I was ecstatic when I woke up and for the rest of the day. This is something I will work harder at now, and a memory I will never forget!
