Maybe it's the way your subconscious punishes you. Do you do things like steal from old people in many dreams? |

Lucid Dreams: 0 (watch this space)
I know the exact feeling you're talking about. I often used to feel like that when trying to run from something or scream in nightmares. What I've heard is that since your body is not mobile at all, due to sleep paralysis, some of that transfers over into your dream, slowing you down. |

Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

This occurance almost always happen during nightmares. I have tried running from dream characters before with the same results you describe. |

This used to happen a lot when I was young -- I would try to shout out for my parents (usually during a nightmare) and find that I couldn't manage more than a whisper. |

I've noticed a sort of pattern in my dreams and other people's - when you absolutely *have* to do something that could be a matter of life and death or something nearly as drastic as that, you almost can never do it. For example, a recent dream of mine, I was being chased by a mob of guys led by a fat actor dude posing as Julius Caesar (don't ask), and as I ran, I was having alot of trouble doing it. All the time I'm thinking "MUST ESCAPE! RUN FASTER", and it just keeps getting slower... |

As a child, before I knew how to control LDs, I had an LD where I tried to defend myself, and my actions were as if I was underwater. Slooooow Mooootiiionn. |

Speaking of disabled dreams, anyone with a disability on this forum? I am partially deaf and need glasses in the real world, but in the dream world I can see and hear perfectly! Another reason to try and dream more... Also, I have had the dreams you mentioned about not being able to move when you really need to...They suck! |
|
i used to have this problem. the "my feet feel like they weigh 5 tons" or the "im running in slow-mo crap". I never get those dreams anymore though ever since i started lucid dreaming. actually to think of it, ive become more powrerful. I usually have superpowers for no reason and nightmares are a rarity. |
