Not really lucid, but I'm new...

I know that this isn't really lucid, and I believe some people would call it a false awakening.
I had this CRAZY dream about this huge fish named "ricky" and we were friends, and then he almost died, but I got him back in the water again. Funny that I didn't realise this was a dream... anyway, after this dream, i had another dream that i was awake and i said to myself "wow what a dream you better write that down" so in my dream I recalled the whole dream about ricky by writing it down. Then I REALLY woke up and thought, "good thing I wrote that dream down" and I went to look for it and it wasn't written down at all.

So I know that I wasn't lucid, but I did realise a dream in a dream, just the wrong dream!!!!

Im off to bed, and this is my first attempt at a lucid dream night... I only read about it today, so I am anxious to see where my mind takes me.

      Sweet dreams!

Welcome on board! Yeah false awakenings can really stink! There have been several members here that have written in their journals only to find that they were still in a dream when doing it.

Good luck on your attempts tonight!

I once had a false awakening where my mom came in and told me that one of my friends ahd died in a car accident. Do I spent the whole walk to school being really depressed, then I saw her at school and it totaly freaked me out. Only after I saw her id I realize that it had been a dream.

I find false awakenings annoying. Once, I became lucid, then the dream started to fade. I woke up into a false awakening, and lost lucidity. The moment I became lucid, everything became vivid for a second, though.

I wish you luck on your quest for lucidity It'll probably be tomorrow when you read this, but oh well. I've nothing better to do than lurk around DV late at night. Tell us if you got anything
