Thread: i had a lucid nightmare. first ld

The first LD I remember occurred when I was, as your were, five years old. I was at my grandparents house, feeling very homesick - in the dream - and wishing that I could escape. I realized it was a dream and willed myself awake at that point. I've also used frightening dreams recently as a means of catapaulting into an LD. Sorry your first had to suck to badly.
I had a nightmare somewhat like what you had. I was in a broken-down house. everything was dusty and covered in decrepit filth. There was a central living room area surrounded by numerous dark and cold entrances to other rooms the inner details of which were too dark to see. I was lost in this house and too frightened to leave the living room because it was the only room with a little ambient light. I grew impatient and attempted to move into one of the other rooms to escape, but right as I got close to the threshhold of the door, a wraith I can only compare to the angel of death came wailing out of the room, gliding at a rapid speed, and crashed headlong down into the floor of the living room like a rocket. It broke the floorboards, creating a huge pit in the floor. Other wraiths like it, all wailing and screaming with hollow eyes and clothed in flying rags, came from the other rooms and followed the first wraith down into the pit. The worst past of this was not their sickening appearance, but their screams. The screams were hellish, tortured, screams of suffering and utter, icy misery. It is quite possibly the most horrific dream I've ever, EVER had. Sorry to ramble on, figured I'd share with you. -OUT-

I had the worst nightmare ld, I remember trying to fly and fell down and was paralized and blind I knew I was dreaming I then started to feel something chewing on my flesh I was blind and I could hear something making noises and continueing to chew on my flesh I woke up and found my arm in the place I had felt the chewing and my brother was making noises in his sleep, this goes back to when I was a kid I would now I was dreaming and everyone would turn into zombies which I was afried of at the time, I usuelly try to wake up, and they try to chew on me well Im paralyzed and blind, I now know what couses nightmares, eating spicy things before bedtime and being over heated well you are sleeping, all I can say is the more fear you have in a dream the more fear you will face.

another scary LD was when I was about 6 years old I dreamed I woke out of bed and whent into the living room and knew I was dreaming I was going to try to kill myself so I could wake up the jumped into the stove and slid under it and saw a skelleton looking me straight in the face with flams sorrounding it

When I started to LD it was at a very young age and it was because of a nightmare. I think that is something that makes you think about were you are and what is going on around you. When you are scared or tense you become more aware of your surrondings. I think that is the easiest way to become lucid, just my 2 cents though.

I was also about five when I had my first lucid dream. I might have been six or seven. I had wanted to have one for a while (Yes, I invented the concept of lucid dreaming and later found out that I wasn't the first to think of it. Damn!) so I could fly. In the LD, I was was walking down a ledge of a tall building and realized I was dreaming. I decided to fly. Just before I started flying, I woke up. It was such a tease. However, I later pulled off a lucid dream where I went flying for a while. I was 32.

Any way, I have come across freaky stuff in lucid dreams also. I think the best thing to do is take comfort in the fact that it is just a dream, and laugh at it. Just remember that none of the crazy stuff you are seeing can actually hurt you. Then the experience can be a lot of good laughs.

Well, once the world was about to blow up. This weird dude (long hair, been popping up for weeks. Killed lots of people i had been hanging around. Strange that i could make friends with dream characters. but all the same it was pissing me off) so he was about to blow up the world. Barely anything was left but rubble. There was a big black sphere thing that was sucking everything in. I* managed to get him in to it too, but6 i ended up dead.
Once i just was on fire the whole time
Once i went to a friend's beach house, and they got this new DDR machine. Really weird. Looked like there was only two buttons, but there were four like the regular one. I went in and started playing with my mom. I had realized i was dreaming the whole time. So i started playing. I was doing pretty good, but then i noticed this one little kid was going towards the bonfire, chasing a ball. No one else realized what he was doing. So i stopped playing and tried running off the machine to save him, but there were invisible walls all around. I tried everytrhing i could think of. Then the friend turned all weird looking (like posessed) and told me i couldn't get out unless i passed the song.) so i set it on eightX speed, and got it done quick. I managed to save the kid, but i was in the fire... i finally was able to wake up.
One time i was venturing with more friends into this weird cave place to get some strange magic item. I ended up getting stabbed with a huge fang (about four times the size of that basilisk one) and i immediately woke up, but i couldn't move an inch. I couldn't even raise my eyelids! All the time i kept hearing this voice almost crying, saying i'
d be okay. That was creepy...
Then one time i was at this super cool new year's concert with a band, singing in front of everyone and they were cheering me on. Afterwards i went backstage. Who would be waiting but the super creepy guy from months ago. he tried to kill the others in the band, but i was so pissed at him that i went straight for him with a pocketknife. I stabbed him in the heart, but he ended up shooting me.
I "woke up" in a hospital. One nurse said that this one guy saved me. But i didn't get much of a description.
Then, on my brithday, i was having this huge party when someone sabotaged it. Although it wasn't scary, it wasn't nice.
And then another time i was compe,tely engulfed in darkness. One of the characters i had made friends with came in and saved me. (wasn't happy, he died and i liked that character! If he was real, he might have been a good boyfriend!)
Then last night, the "ghost" of that character cme to me in the middle of the wrecked ballroom (from my biurthday party that was ruined by the apocalypse. Shouldn't have happened because when i die in the mains toryline, no one else has ever remembered anything, and no scene from it had ever been left.) he told me that i shouldn't worry about little stuff and bad stuff, i should live for the happy moments and believe i can find a special someone...
maybe meant to be a valentines message?? Well, that one just happened yesterday and i'm still freaked.
