      My first time.

Almost everyone can recall their first time. Many find it relatively awkward, I found it thrilling. A few nights ago I had my first lucid experience. It happened to be a false awakening but I managed to attain perfect lucidity but a few moments before I actually woke up. In the dream I awoke in my bedroom and attempted to turn on my lamp. Stubborn like those in many dreams the light refused to be turned on. At this point I was 90% sure I was dreaming. I quickly recalled a easy reality check, breathing through my nose as it was plugged between my thumb and my first finger. Vital air rushed through my nose and into my lungs, in no way inhibited by the blockade I had created with my fingers. 100% Lucidity was attained as I was sucked back into my bed and opened my eyes. For real this time. A single tear rolled off my cheek, I had finally accomplished something that has been on the back burner for nearly five years of my life. In the words of legend, Great Success!

Ya it was kinda strange that I decided to do a reality check. And Ive been trying it out for roughly four years on and off. Just occasionally trying to DILD and such. I actually had another Lucid dream the very next day, which to say the least.....epic dream.

Haha. I love how you set this thread up.

My first lucid dream was a High School dream (which is a place where my dreams almost never take place - probably had a total of 2 regular High School dreams last year). I was talking to a few old girlfriends and guy friends, and realized that none of this made sense. I haven't talked to these people in forever, and I was in college now! (Haha. I love dream reasoning, and how you suddenly catch yourself creating a situation that makes no sense when compared to the real world).

I remember changing the sky from night to day. I also ran out into our school's football field. Everything was so vivid and clear. I remember it like it happened yesterday.

It was very vivid, unfortunately it only lasted a few moments. The next night I actually had a long lucid dream but it was not nearly as vivid as the one previous. And thanks dash, I was hoping it might catch some peoples attention

Sounds like you've all had some really super dreams! Come to think of it, lamp shades are a really good way to catch false awakenings, because almost everyone switches their lamp on when they wake up! Unless the Sun's risen of course...

Unfortunately I don't have a lamp near my bed, so, wouldn't work for me, but, definitely a good reality check
