      Confused

Hey, last night i had a nightmare, a guy looking like Albert Einstein with no beard chased me and a big robot with a huge soil knife. As he chased us he keeped yelling "im going for the head!" then he caught up with the robot, and sliced his head off. Then he looked at me, and thats where i got control, i didnt look for dream signs or anything. So now that i was in control i thought "if he could overpower a big robot, he can overpower me too, then i thought "im gonna teleport to a safe place or something". So i counted to 20 and said "teleport me to dream heaven", then i closed my eyes and snapped my fingers. When i open up my eyes the guy was still there but luckily, as he was about the cut my head off, an angel grabbed his arm, then the angel looked at me and said "hello" then he dragged the guy away, and thats when me dream ended.

So what i am confused about is, that i got control without doing anything. Has anyone ever tried that? I would also like to point out that this has happened a couple of times before.

As a matter of fact, I have tried that, but I wasn't fortunate enough to save myself, so I died.

I've had lucid dreams without using techniques or outside stimulus - they just sort of happen as I need them. One time, I was being chased through a parking lot at night - I could run super fast and turn impossible angles. At the time I didn't realize I was dreaming. But then a group of thugs started coming straight at me, like they were going to collide with me head on... so I launched myself over them and began to fly into a wall made of concrete and insulation. My head bopped right against the surface, and I thought I'd be too solid to make it through. But then a sort of soothing sensation came over me, and I realized that I was dreaming and so the wall wasn't really solid. So I flew through and got away.
I've never had a lucid dream using the techniques. They all come this way. If I think about it before I fall asleep, I can make them happen that way too. So I don't think it's so unusual to be able to lucid dream without doing anything to provoke it.

You guys must be naturals at lucid dreaming. I've gotten a few near-lucids on my own, but never a controllable dream without inducing it.

Lol. I woke myself up from a lucid because I got scared after I looked at my reflection (guys on the forum said I ought to do it.) Really need to get over my fear of lucids.

What happened when you looked at your reflection Horsey?

I think looking in the mirror is a risky thing to do, especially if you're already scared. One time I looked in the mirror and a skull was looking back at me instead of my face Not to freak you out, but if you're scared already, you might put something scary there just because you already feel that way.

All you have to do is feel brave instead of scared! It helped me to have confidence in myself. Either by knowing I would get away from the bad guys, or knowing in the back of my mind that I have abilities I might not have activated yet, etc.

It's your mind after all... are you gonna let fears boss you around inside your own head space? You are the person that's scaring you. There's nobody else in there. If you can remember that it'll give you new confidence in your lucid dream. That'll make all the difference
