Sprank's first attempt at a 'WILD'

And I guess you could say I have absolutely no experience in the subject, with only a few random lucid dreams in my life. Anything I know was over a 20 minute or so of reading.

After some reading I did on the site's tutorial section, I decided to give one guide's 'Breathing' method a shot.

It said that it might take a few (up to 400+) hundred counts before you get there, and the breathing being something to keep you focused.

Because I have my fan on for noise, I wasn't able to hear my breathing, so I used my nose instead of my mouth, and simply counted in, and thought out. After a count of about 15, I started to fall asleep and started hearing a voice talking. Once I realized this, I snapped back to counting. I assume this is when I would normally have fallen asleep had it not been for the method.

Immediately after this, my entire body began tingling. I didn't notice any of the color patterns I've heard I was supposed to see, just darkness, so I assumed to myself that I might just be making myself feel the tingling. 20, 21.

Then my eyes relaxed, and I started seeing the patterns. To describe them, I saw two white boomerang-shaped objects floating around the darkness. Then the lines became a bit more detailed. As well as the tingling, my hands began to twitch on their own. 25, 26.

Then I noticed that it felt like my eyes were barely opened, but trying to 'close' them resulted in me just squeezing my eyes shut, so I decided to ignore it. 29, 30.

And right at 30 is when my eyes, seemingly violently (As one tutorial described, they were shaking around in all directions. Does this mean I was hitting REM?), focused and my entire vision began to bright up in a white light. Knowing that getting too excited could ruin it, I kept myself calm. And then my heart began racing faster than I've ever felt it run in my life.

Also being told that this kind of thing was normal, I didn't worry. Then my eyes felt like they were slowly opening, revealing more and more of this whitish light. One tutorial also mentioned dream eyes being separate from Awake eyes, and if you're in a dream opening your eyes could actually be opening your dream eyes.

Thinking that this was the case, since it felt like my eyes were opening by itself and all I was seeing was more of the picture, I slowly opened my eyes by choice. To reveal the pillow next to me.

After which, I decided to take a few minute break before trying again, since I was shaking pretty bad.

The best tip I can remember for myself would be to remember to regain focus when you start to fall asleep. Other than that, it was pretty great to get real results on the first attempt I've ever made, especially with only having one or two lucid dreams in my life. The weirdest part though was that it happened after only counting to 30. I'd guess less than 3 minutes of laying down at all. Here's hoping I can get a successful second attempt.

One day later, my first success (albeit differently than I expected).

I decided to give the CAN-Wild method a try, seeing as how a normal WILD before bed didn't work so well.

After setting a 3 second alarm for 4:30 after I slept, I woke up to find that it unfortunately decided to loop the 3 second song, ruining the attempt. I decided to try to WILD anyways, but to no avail, so I went to sleep.

However, I fell asleep into a lucid dream. Sadly, I woke up from it in seconds. Going back to sleep again put me into A false awakening in a different room, where everything was slightly different than it should be. I tried the finger-to-palm reality check, but it felt just like it did awake. After I felt 'dream drunkenness', I figured it had to be a dream, and awoke after a little exploring.

Funnily enough, I always got a little creeped out thinking about a false awakening, since it seemed like it would probably be what triggers a nightmare the easiest. However, in the dream it was more calming than in real life.

Cool! It's always good to hear another person's first WILD attempt.
My first attempt was a bit like yours, except I got really afraid because I thought I had slipped into a FA, 'cause nothing had happened.
When I opened my eyes, I felt like I was really fainting. It was unpleasant. That put me off for a while - I hope you have better luck in the future.
      Goals:
Fly in a lucid dream [X]
Go to my own world in a lucid dream [ ]
