Best B-day gift every First LD!

Messed up on the title: Best B-day gift ever! First LD!

After a month of attempting to get a LD, I finally achieved my first one today on my birthday (Including 3 FAs). I felt the dream wasn't as long as I wanted it to be but I'm happy I got to experience it. I couldn't stop smiling when I awoke. My story might be long so feel free to skip it.

My lucid dream was triggered by a false awakening. I remember waking up in my room in the dark. The strange thing was it was covered with weird glow in the dark neon paintings on the wall (like the one you see at fun houses at a carnival or something). Bam, I was then aware I was dreaming. It felt strange, as if I was half awake and half asleep but very aware of everything that was going on. I didn't do a RC though (I will try to remember next time to get into the habit) but I fully understood that I was in a dream. First thing I did was stand up and look around my room. Most of my stuff in my room was misplaced and the few stuffed animals I keep in there were very disfigured and looked really creepy (they also had neon glow in the dark pain splattered all over them). The one I remember most was a demonic looking Spongebob, LOL!

I walked to my desk and saw that the computer was on. I was contemplating whether or not to look through my computer but decided in the end not to waste my time because I might wake up (a mmorpg game was running on the computer). I suddenly heard something behind me and I turned around quickly and saw my little 17 year old sister standing in my room. She was wearing a black turtleneck and a black knee length skirt. Her hair was tied up into a neat bun. By this time the room was starting to light up. I was afraid my sister was going to attack me or morph into a monster so I called out her name. She said hello and started talking to me how she usually talks to me in real life. I felt so relieved! She told me I was in the dream world and told me everything will be strange looking. I looked at her and asked "Are you my dream guide?" My sister looked at me and said "Uhhhhh.... yeah?" Like she wasn't sure. I felt like she was not telling me the truth because I know when she is telling a lie. Anyways, she told me I should explore outside so I turned towards my door and held the doorknob. I took a deep breath and began to imagine an awesome place I wanted to be transported to when I open the door. I turned the knob and opened the door only to be disappointed. On the other side of the door was a dark alley of an old industrial town but I went through anyways. I think at this point I lost lucidity and "woke up".

I woke up in my room and I sat up and looked around. Everything seemed normal except for the big snake pillow next to me. I sleep with a shark pillow every night. That sign made me realize I was still dreaming. I lay back on my bed and yelled "Increase clarity!" and "Brightness!" but nothing happened. I tried once more but nothing happened again. For a few minutes I lay there frustrated that nothing was working. Again, I forgot to do a RC. I looked outside my window and saw that the sun was rising at a fast pace (like when they fast forward a sunset/sunrise on TV). I sat up again and saw a Japanese singer on my computer chair. He stood up and I walked up to him. I called out his name and he said something weird to me. "God is the creator. He can destroy and he can create." Then he jumped out of my window! LOL! I looked out my window and he was gone (I find it weird because I am in no way a religous person). I don't know why but I felt like I needed to inform someone about everything that was happening so I "called my sister" on my cell phone to tell her about my lucid dream. I even bragged about how my fingers were all deformed when I look at them (I had seven short knobby fingers on my right hand and 6 fingers on the other with my point & ring finger being deformed) I think I lost lucidity at this point and "woke up" again. I think I must have done a RC because I realized I was still dreaming. At this point I was fed up with the FAs so I lay back down and tried to force myself to wake up. Which I did soon after (deep inside I was scared I was going to be stuck in this FA marathon).

Phew! Sorry it was so long! I wanted to share this with everyone. I'll be copying this entry in my DJ. Wahoo!

I have to say, this is an impressive first lucid dream, congratulations. Did it feel like you had control while you were lucid?
Once more into the breach dear friends, once more! And fear not its darkness, for it is only a figment of my imagination!

Thank you! Yes, I felt like I had total control when I was lucid. It felt so strange and surreal. It is something I want to try and experience again. Since it was my first time, there was some parts that I could vaguely remember because I would slip out of lucidity and just go along with the dream which caused the other FAs.

Nice job, Jesa! Sounds like a pretty good first lucid.

It's a good thing that your sister DC stayed as her normal self because - had it been me, anticipating that she might attack - she probably would have tried to tear my face off. LOL. Don't get too discouraged about not remembering to do a RC. Even the most experienced LDers get caught up in the moment and forget to do some of the most basic things. What matters is that you had a great experience...and on your birthday!! (Bonus)

Congrats. Here's to many more of them!

Good luck around here recently! My own birthday is next week and I hope I am as fortunate as you all.
