I'm often the same way in dreams. I'll be doing something completely impossible, or maybe reading about lucid dreamiing, and the fact that I am dreaming never really registers. It's like I'm not quite mentally whole. |

This morning, I was having a very bizarre dream about being at the beach in an underground cave that was a house where Michael Jackson lives and was having friends over for something that resembled Christmas, except it was a festival of bitching at Michael for being a child molester while honoring him for being a great entertainer. It was in a neighborhood. Any way, my father and I left Michael Jackson's cave/house and went to pick up my nephew who was staying a few houses down the road. My father and I got into an argument, and I flew off the handle (which doesn't happen in real life). I immediately apologized by saying something like, "I'm sorry. I'm really tired right now. In fact, I am asleep and dreaming." For some reason, knowing that I was dreaming did not register any more than enough to have me make the comment. Ordinarily, such knowledge would have me exploring the dream with awareness that I am dreaming. This time, I knew it for a split second and kept going without the awareness that I was dreaming. Has anybody else done this, and do you know any tricks for making sure you don't remain in such a weak state of lucidity? I plan to work on training my mind to catch such knowledge every time and act on it accordingly. |

Thanks, Scruffy. One of my two main methods is willing myself to fly many times during the day so I will try it while dreaming and pull it off in the dream world and then know for certain that I am dreaming. My other big one is checking reality throughout the day with intense concentration to see if it all adds up. This site taught me that trick, and it is the method that got me to start lucid dreaming in full effect. I think it's an excellent trick to use. I need to get it further into my head that ANY TIME I say to myself I am dreaming, it is time to experience a lucid dream. I usually have that straight, but I apparently slacked off yesterday morning. I'll improve it. |

Hey Universal, I have one WORSE than yours: I was in this locker room when I actually realized I was dreaming and was about to say it out loud and try flying, but like an IDIOT I thought I would make a fool of myself by shouting it out so I thought instead' "oh, I'll wait till no one else is around and then fly" |

The only time i ever came close to becoming Lucid was just before i joined this website (its really what made me dig deeper into lucid dreaming and of course that led to this great site) |
