      Dreamcamera (first LD!)

Wow, I did it! A few hours ago, around 9.55 AM I had my first lucid dream! It was awesome, but really short...

I went to bed at 12:30 AM, and after having a really vivid dream, I woke up at 1.30. I thought about trying FILD, but I was quite afraid to experience SP and hallucinations at that time because it was really dark in my room and I suffer from night blindness (so hallucinations look 10 times worse for me, because I really can't see my room. All I can see is blackness). So I decided to just go to sleep again and try it in the morning.

So after a good few hours of sleep I woke up at 9:37 AM. I didn't feel tired enough to do a FILD, so after 5 minutes being awake I tried to remember my last dream. I thought about the last place I saw there and tricks to remember my dreams better in the future... And wow, I was back in my dream! (At that time I didn't know I was dreaming). I had a camera in my hands, and I said 'I'm going to make some picture with this dreamcamera', So I took a picture, but I used the wide-angle setting on my camera, so the picture didn't turn out good. I said 'Hmmm.. wrong setting, but the colours are pretty vivid, even in a dream!'

Thats when I felt a light shock going through my body, I knew I was dreaming! I tried to look around to see more of the dream landscape without getting too excited, but everything faded to black incredibly fast. I didn't have enough time to rub my hands together or to spin around and stabilize my dream and I woke up.

This whole experience took only 2 or 3 minutes, but it was awesome and I really want to try it again tomorrow morning!

      Congrats mate

My first LD didn't last more than five seconds either as soon as I realized I was dreaming.. But even in those five seconds, I felt so good ^^

Update 05-19-2010: A few minutes ago I had my first 'real' longer lasting LD!

This morning, I woke up at 8.25 & I decided to get some more sleep because I felt pretty tired. I thought about LD'ing, and when I closed my eyes suddenly an enormous energy rushed through my body!
I was really conscious at that moment, and afraid of hallucinations/sounds I started FILD'ing to make the wild ride a bit less wild. While using FILD the enormous energy rush came in 'waves', and after a few of those energy waves I opened my eyes. I was lying in my bed, and my room looked normal... But it felt different, and I did a nose-pinch RC... I was definitly dreaming!

But it was really dark in my room, so I was afraid to get out of bed, it just didn't feel right. I tried visualizing a dreamscene, but it didn't really work, and the next moment I was at the local shopping mall! There was a bull attacking me, and I had almost no control of my dream. I knew I was dreaming, and I was able to look around to see more of the dream scene, walk whereever I wanted in that scene, but for some reason I wasn't able to get rid of the bull or to visualize my own dreamscene... I walked around for one more time, thinking about myself lying in bed, and trying to look around to see every detail of my dream, then I decided that it was time for me to wake up. So I started to tell myself to wake up, and after a few seconds I was lying in my room again. I knew FILD'ing causes lots of FA's, so I did a RC and confirmed I was still dreaming. This happened more than 8 times before finally waking up again.

The whole dream lasted for 15 minutes!
I'm a bit dissapointed because I expected to be in total control of my dream, and it didn't turn out that way. Or is it just because i'm still a beginner on LD'ing, and I don't have enough experience to control them?

I'm really surprised about the experiences I had so far. I mean, I started reading about LD's 3 weeks ago, I'm trying to remember my dreams for two weeks now, and I had 2 LD's in two weeks! Amazing!

Congratulations, sounds like a good lucid.

Not necessarily because you're a beginner. Lucidity and control don't always go hand in hand, regardless of experience. I've had a few where I'm god-like and can do anything, but LD's like that are few and far between.

No worries leo, you'll get the hang of it! There's a few dreams with great control in my journal (link in the sig)- probably a couple of pages in.
