      First Lucid Experience

Well, as the subject reads, I had my first lucid experience last night. I was jogging down what appeared to be a road, and then it hit me, I was dreaming, so I just kind of took off, I started flying a little bit, but once I'd gotten about 15 feet above the ground, I got scared, sort of "lost my lucidity" and fell. It was then that I woke up. Now I've just got to find away of not freaking out when I do something completely out of this world. Now that I look back on it, I wish that I did other things in my dream. Wait...could it be possible that I had a dream that I was lucidly dreaming? Does that even happen? I don't think it was that, but I'm not a man of absolutes, so I can't say for sure.

      Chris.

Well i dont think that you can have a dream that you are lucid because that means that you know that you are dreaming. That was probably low lucidity...

well done chris! From all the evidence i have read and experienced this is a very common first LD experience, (it happened to me to on my first LD) only practice and time will help you to have longer LDs.

I find your lack of faith disturbing...

      congrats

Hey congrats on your first Lucid. You are no longer a virgin!

First experience is always like a tease. I'm telling you, what I've learned on this site is to look at your hand just to confirm you are dreaming (it's guaranteed to look different or odd in the dream world, don't ask me how it works but it juuuuust does), that will gve you the "safe" feeling to go ahead and keep exploring and for goodness sake.. psych yourself out by acting like it's no big deal even though you know it is... just a suggestion on how to stay cool 8) so you don't go getting excited and ending the experience.

      Dream on.....

      Blissful

Thanks everyone. It was really weird because I had really slacked off for about 3 or 4 days there with keeping a dream journal or even concentrating on the idea, and then, it just sorta happened. I just wish my dream recall was better so I could remember it more vividly. Oh well, it was still great for the 30 or 40 seconds of it that I remember. If nothing else but a cool experience, this has revived in me the desire to attain the goal.

Its funny because that 30-40 seconds of dream time was probably like 1 or 2 seconds of real waking time.

yeah, so what would 90 years be? some guy said he stayed in a dream 90 years, or so i read in another thread.

How long does dream time compare to real time, i know no one is for sure, but is there estimates?
