      This was certainly strange

This morning when I overslept for 40 min by accident, I had about 2 dreams that I remember and one of them was very confusing. Last night I was semi-tired and just lied down and stilled(tried the best I could) my thoughts. I was doing this for about an hour or 2(time went by fast!). Then I just went to sleep.

In the dream I was dreaming that I was having a lucid dream. I guess I didn't realize that I was really dreaming the whole thing and I didn't realize since the whole setting was normal(just me going to sleep while my cousin and brother are sleeping in the room). I dont remember what I supposedly dreamt about in the dream that I thought I dreamt, but I do remember that near the end of the "Lucid dream" everything started to go black(i knew the dream was about to end). i then woke up still half asleep and immediately went back to sleep. I fell asleep and I was falling down a bottomless pit/void. I even felt something when falling. Like I was going deeper and deeper into something more powerful(maybe my subconcious, but its hard to describe the feeling?) I Then woke up again and throughout the dream I just tried to go back to sleep untill my dream characters woke up.

Is this what they call a false awakening? I've never experienced one so I dont know what this was. Also what do you think of when I tried to go back to sleep and falling into a void because I dont know what to make of it? When I thought about this dream during school, it really confused me. Any opinions/analytical comments are welcome.

It is clear you experienced a false awakening, tricky aren't they? Dreams of falling, (esp. down a void or bottomless pit) are exceptionally common, they may be symbolic of feeling helpless or not in control of some aspect of one's waking life, but i believe moreso that they are really just some sort of "short circuit" of some kind in the brain. A sudden "surge" between conciousness/unconciousness, maybe like a "sleep start" that often happens to you during the initial or "hypnagogic" stage of sleep. Nobody really knows what causes these "sleep starts", (a sudden twitching of the limbs which jolts you awake, I've experienced them many times, its a freaky feeling), but the experts say they are quite harmless.
I find your lack of faith disturbing...

i have expirenced this 'void' when after having a LD, and right before waking up. its relaxing to me, full of warmth and comfort, but for me i dont fall, but just float upon the void...i love it.

Those are shear WILD indications if you would've thought of anything while you felt like you were falling down the void then your dream setting would've been your whatever you thought of. I know that feeling all to well and its definately WILD. Thats Major! Im prettty impressed.

WILD for some people is VERY HARD to accomplish, but some can just do it easily.

Today, everything was fine. Until roundabout, quarter to nine, I suddenly found myself in a bind. Was it something I said? Something I read an manifested that's getting you down.[/b]

I was really going to have a WILD? YAY, improvement .

BTW, I have felt this falling sensation when resting with eyes closed or taking a nap during school in a sitting position(I have never experienced this when going to sleep in my bed) Everytime though I thought I was falling for real and I twitched heavily and jolted me awake. Is this the sign of WILD? If it is, I wish I knew how to do it willingly. Im not sure what I did to make me stay conciously awake/aware long enough to feel this falling feeling. I THINK each time I felt it, i was thinking about nothing and keeping my mind clear unintentionally because I was dead tired. So its safe to say that this falling feeling means your going to sleep and are transfering your aware mind to a dream? Thanks

Before I started learning about lucid dreaming I used to dose off before I went into deeper sleep and in about 30 seconds I felt a rush of adrenaline in my system. My heart pounded and I lolted my arms and legs up. My brother got a kick out of it. Of course he did it too and i laughed back at him.

I actually posted somethin related to this recently, glad i found this post too.

Recently I was tryin to do a WILD. I didnt see anything when i closed my eyes (no hypnogic imagery) and I thought I would go normally to sleep. I felt awake and all of a sudden I just jolted. Maybe my Mind was just awake??
