    Submitting to Sleep Paralysis

    by Debbie78 on 07-05-2016 at 10:31 PM
It's taken some time to get over my fear of sleep paralysis, and to go with it. Now that I've woken up from my nap, and started researching, I realize I could have gotten here a lot sooner! This is my first account of purposely submitting to my sleep paralysis.

I felt my sleep paralysis start coming on while taking a light nap on the couch, in my living room. I made sure to tell myself to relax. As I did, I got a brain zapping, whooshing sensation and sound, which was something different for me right off the bat. I drifted back to sleep a couple of times and kept returning to my sleep paralysis state. Each time, I would tell myself to relax, and by the second or third time, I simply heard myself saying "relax" through my ears instead of actually thinking it.

The next thing I know I am up, I think I was turning the volume down on the computer, and heading to the kitchen to grab some caffeine. My normal wake-up routine. But I remember thinking to myself how wonderful I felt. I wondered if this was a dream. In my semi-lucid dreams I can usually get to the flying point, so at this point I tried to jump twice to see if I would go airborne. (I guess I've been playing too much Minecraft...) I stumbled backwards into the stove a little, and realized I must be awake, I was not going to fly today. I let the dog outside... noticed I had new neighbors who had new dogs, but it was raining, so I decided I would wait until tomorrow to meet them.

At this point I must have drifted into a deeper consciousness... or awoke, I don't remember. And while this is the most mundane dream ever recorded in human history, it is a huge leap for me. SP really is a doorway to lucid dreaming, and now that I experienced this, I can start honing in on it and having a lot more fun!

As a side note, it is not raining out today, and my same old neighbor is there with the same old dogs...
