- Biography:
- Relavtively new to the concept & practice of lucid dreams - I had one accidental one as a teenager & one rather dramatic one (that I can remember, anyway!) last year. I first came across the idea when a friend recommended I watch the film 'Waking Life' & was immediately intrigued! Obviously I've seen & loved Inception & am keen to have some genuine & lasting lucid dreams myself.
I practice reality checks quite often & these seem to lead to much more vivid dreams, but as yet, no full-on lucidity. This may be due to the fact that I 'suffer' from clinical levels of anxiety, depression & trauma (for which I've had treatment) & thus my fears of lucid dreaming becoming traumatic or dangerous are an obstacle - one which I'm keen to overcome. I also use over-the-counter sleeping medication (Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride) which I'm told can interrupt REM sleep but not stop it alltogether. I was taking this medication the last time I almost become lucid.
Other than the above I'm also a singer in a local musical theatre choir, I meditate daily, love subjects like politics, philopsophy, psychology, sociology, metaphysics, etc, etc. I also enjoy dancing, writing & have a very dry, slightly eccentric sense of humour.
...and that's me!
