First lucid dream and sleep paralysis

by Paulbb on 12-25-2011 at 12:21 PM
    Hello,
I had my first lucid dream today, and I had to share.

First a little history, I'm used to getting Sleep Paralysis now and than usually when
I'm really tired (and sleeping on my back as I always do). The first two, I didn't
know what it was so I thought my father ghost is holding me down - Really scary.
After the second time I searched the internet about it and found out its called Sleep
Paralysis and people get them. Not one of my friends heard about this phenomena
and my mom didn't believe me...

After I read about SP I was no longer scared when I experienced one. I just relaxed
and tried to wake up by focusing on moving my body. By that time, I also read about
lucid dreams but I didn't have the patience to try them. But I did do is trying to
recall every dream I had. Every time I woke up and try to remember what I dreamed about.
Not writing down, just recalling it and maybe telling my friend about it.

Last time I got SP was a week ago, I wasn't scared (even tough I saw a silhouette on
the couch across me staring at me) and I woke up, turned the light on and sat on
the computer. I searched on LD and SP and got to read about WILD technique.
I didn't know my SP could be a easy way (but a bumpy ride) into LD so I read
carefully on what I would experience if it will happen to me.

So last night, after playing soccer for 3 hours I got home exhausted and slept two
hours, woke up in midnight and watched a lengthy movie on TV till 2:30. I was really
tired and I went to bed. I laid down on my back, and felt cosey but I couldn't stop
thinking about how I played soccer today. Regardless I felt my body starting to become
numb. I started focusing on relaxing and feeling the tingling feeling that my body is starting
fall asleep. I don't know what happened next or how long it took, but the next thing I knew
was that I was in SP state.

I thought this is my chance! This time I didn't want to wake up, I wasn't afraid and I
didn't look around. I just focused on having a lucid dream, and staying in control.
I knew the next step is going to be the transition and then I started feeling
a burst of speed, and I let it carry me away. Hanging on to it, not getting overly excited.
I was still on my back and then everything was black. I read about this,
I knew I had to open my eyes. I opened them and I was flying over a moon like surface.

I tried to control it, It wasn't easy, but I manged to land my self on the ground near
a building that looked like a game I played. I went inside and saw someone inside,
he looked like he was going to attack me, so I ran to the the back room and found
a gun. I loaded it and went to kill him, but he wasn't alone. I looked like a game
I just shoot them both and didn't think much about it, and skipped to the other room.
there I saw a half naked woman on a military bed (which I think I summoned),
I will not elaborate on that but it became a little freaky for me and I woke up seconds later.

The second I woke up I remembered it completely and I was smiling because I think I
succeeded, I don't know how much control I had in the dream - I don't know how to
tell. The whole experience was about a hour and half long (SP and LD) and it given a
lot of motivation to try different technique to get a LD again. Hope it does..

    Paul.
