Had a Pretty Intense Lucid Nightmare

Ugh... I'm 17 years old, and this is the first dream that scared me so bad I was afraid to get out of bed and open the door to the hallway.

And I can't even remember half of it. I'll post the dream in the little bit... there was just some frightful feeling behind the nightmare, worse than any ol' average nightmare. Something about everything that happened, I'm trying to figure out how to convey in words what happened and retain that whole sense... of everything it had.

Man, those suck. It's been a while since I had a nightmare that bad, but I remember the feeling. I've had the opposite reaction, though. I ran out of the house and sat in an all-night cafe, under bright lights and surrounded by people. Probably freaked a few people out, too.

      How are you holding up?

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

      Okay, so basically...

A lot of the dream is splotchy, like there were 3 nightmares slapped together pretty closely, and I had another lucid nightmare a few weeks ago I posted about.

Well, the other two nightmares didn't scare me as much, since they were average non lucid nightmares.

Then the nightmare, took me to this place. Down a stairwell, I looked up and saw the trap door closed (Probably from my last lucid nightmare, just only I was inside now)

I had a sudden awareness, in this dream, I knew I was dreaming, I asked myself basic questions "What's my name, where am I, what is a dream, I'm lucid." etc.

Looked at my hands, all 10 fingers in their proper place.

So back to the nightmare that scared me, I looked around and saw myself in a library of sorts, like, the very end of it, and there was some bookshelf next to me.

I think it was a personal library or something, because it wasn't very big, a nice size, but not like the huge ones you'd expect in a checkout place. So, where I'm at, is the end, there is a window to my left, and in front of me a little iron rail. If I followed the rail, there would be a small staircase leading me down a floor to where more shelves are.

So I look out the left window, and see absolutely nothing, not a reflection, not outside. Then the more I look at it, it starts speckling in white, like television static. Then I instantly try to break the nightmare. There was no gun this time, so I start spinning, I spin trying to change the dream, and then suddenly my vision changes, to me laying in my bed.

My eyes are open, and I see my room in the darkness. I can't move and think, "Oh great sleep paralysis, at least I'm awake now." Then my TV flicks on, to the same TV static that the window was showing.

I think to myself "Great, it's still a nightmare." And then the Television static, stops, and goes to a black screen. It's on, just a black screen, then it shatters outward as if something outside broke it in. That second, I jolt backwards, and am in the library now, there are shards of glass at my feet and the window is replaced with a wall.

I look around, and realize there's a small blue light source, coming from the wall opposite to me. So the book shelves kept half the room in near pitch darkness.

So I walk forward, and there are bookshelves to my right, near the staircase down, I notice there's still one bookshelf left, for good measure I go around, and see a ladder, so I climb it to see what's up. I find a gun there, I check it for ammo (I don't know how I got the clip out, I've never held a gun IRL before) and find there is bullets left. So I sit there contemplating to shoot myself again or not(In the dream before this, that's how I ended the other lucid nightmare), because I was half curious to see where this dream would take me. Just then a black figure with long hair came from the bookshelf below me. I looked down, in between my legs and see a face looking at me. I get ready to act, and it flies through me, knocking me out (Yeah passing out in a dream kind of odd?)

So I come to and I'm on the ground, in front of the rail again. The gun is gone, but in its place is a chunk of the rail. So I pick it up, and size it up, it has decent length, kind of heavy so it can do damage.

So I realize, I have a weapon, now comes the use for a weapon, I proceed down the staircase, with caution. I hear clicking, from the roof above me, I look up, but since it's pitch black I can't see anything. I look down and see the figure from earlier, running in front of me into a bookshelf hall. I decide to chase it, and in front of me is a dead end, made by shelf. At the dead end is a monster, humanoid in figure, it is glaring at me, red eyes, pissed off. I get ready to do something, I don't know what but something. Grab the iron pipe, and clutched it. When suddenly the bookshelf tips over, and smacks it down. It's not dead, just really really pissed off.

So it shoves the bookshelf off it, and runs at me. It's about twice my size, so I did the only thing I could think to do. I ran up the staircase. The stairs weren't all that tall, so it was only about 5 feet up. The monster bounded for me, and ended up destroying the stairs with its weight. It then just basically makes a gesture that implied "Screw this" and just leaped up.

So I jump down and start running to the door at the opposite end of the room. I try to open the door, it is jammed. The monster is right behind me, I see a little nightstand, or little table with a drawer right next to it. I instantly know it's important, open it and pull out a gun. I shoot the monster, a few times. It crumbles in pain but doesn't die. It starts screaming and I look over to my right and see another monster bounding for me. Rather than shoot it, I just grab the gun aim it towards my head and!

Suddenly, the scene vanishes, melts away like paint running down canvas. I'm in a pitch black room, There is a floor, I can't see it, I can see my arms and hands, my legs. Then suddenly, I hear clicking again, just click click click. The gun is gone now, and then I hear this really warped sound, it was a sound I could never recreate through words. It was high pitch though, and I look down and see the haggard hair again, Then suddenly realize I can't walk, my hands can't move anymore, I feel my body rotating, I'm on my back now. And I feel the ghost go through my body, and it looks at me.

I can see half it's body going through mine, it just looks at me, it's a girl, around ages 14-17 in appearance. It's not wearing anything, but its body is a giant glob of shadow or something. I see it's face, and I don't remember its face. I just know, there was something in its face, that scared me, it terrified me down to my core. I saw its eyes, and mouth. I saw cuts, and scars, that's all I remember. I don't know what scared me so much about it, I just know... it ripped me, straight to my core.

All this was while lucid BTW. Then suddenly, it went inside my body, I felt vibrations then suddenly I woke up (Again waking up in a dream, how funny is that?) in a room, without any windows, and a wooden floor. In front of me was a door, but I knew it wouldn't open before even trying it. I look around, there are shelves to the left and right, and behind me some string across the wall, with pictures clipped on. I looked down at the table under it, and saw developing ink. To my right, there was a photo album.

I suddenly hear a voice, in the dream I don't know if it was in my head, or outside coming from the walls. It said "Open the album."

So I did, and I see a dead body, as I flip through it, I see pictures of dead bodies, people and their faces dead. Like the left page would have their dead, faces, the right would show the scene from different angles.

The voice says "The girl, has taken a liking to you, she is my masterpiece, she did all you see before you. All these people dead because of her, but she didn't kill you, she played with you. I'm surprised, she normally doesn't even show herself to people."

And then the voice said 'Well then, I'll see you next time. Oh, you thought this was over? No no no, we'll be seeing you again soon enough."

The the next thing I know I'm awake in my bed. Scared the hell out of me.

Brief loss of awareness and a timeskip, yeah? That happened to me the last time I got shot in the head.

(Again waking up in a dream, how funny is that?)
False awakenings, oh, what fun. I used to do the "kill myself to wake up" thing as well, but that doesn't work for me anymore. I've given up entirely on trying to wake myself up from dreams/nightmares, since I always end up in a FA.

And then the voice said 'Well then, I'll see you next time. Oh, you thought this was over? No no no, we'll be seeing you again soon enough."
Think of it this way: at this point, you have an interesting cast of characters to utilize in future dreams. You just need to improve your dream control a bit. A quick tip: the easiest way to fight off nightmare creatures is to drain all their dark energy and use it yourself.

Do you usually keep a dream journal?

That sounds like a freaky ass dream. Especially the ending :O
"Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots. You see, reverend Maynard tomorrow is harvest day, and to them it is the holocaust."
