During my first lucid dream something was chasing me. I realised I was dreaming but that did not help because the thing was still chasing me and I didn't wake up. So, I crouched on the floor, clamped my hands over my ears, screamed WAKE UP! (like 5 times), and I woke up yelling for me to wake up. I frequently have nightmares were I know I am dreaming but I can do nothing. I hope this might help people who have the same problem.

Hello,

Yes, your not taking control of the dream is partly due to inexperience. How do you describe your personality during your day time, your waking hours? Build a habit to stand your ground in arguments and debates and discussions. Don't give in timidly in situations where you feel you are in the right. Once you inculcate such behavior patterns in you, you will carry them in your dreams, too.

Hth,
Sanjay.

My Father has had a recurring nightmare for years that a bear is chewing on his leg. Once he realizes he's dreaming he wakes himself up. I told him to ask the bear why it was doing that instead. He told me the other day that he did that and the bear said "I dunno." and that was the last time he has had the nightmare.

Hehehe ... Surprisingly, analysis of dream-signs (oneiromancy?) is not part of Lucid Dreaming courses that I have come across ... I dunno why.

I am sure the Bear-sign must have become scared at the victim turning around and becoming assertive! Scampering away to go find someone else to harrass!!!

Cheers,
Sanjay.

You have to face your fears, through force or diplomacy, otherwise you will not get rid of them. Running away from them will not solve anything.

If a thing was chaseing me and I knew I was dreaming. I would turn around and get my Freddy claws ready to scare. > If it angered me enough I will give it the portal of death treatment.

Something like this happened to me. I was locked in a room with a bunch of people and the creepy saw guy (from the movie) was holding us hostage there. I wanted to help everyone, so I found a way to slink out of the window. After I got out I started running as fast as I could, but I could sense something behind me. I ended up in the YMCA changeroom.... I was cornered. I hid behind a towel but then I saw the scary guy enter the room.. He was really fat and in a wheelchair. I realized that it was a dream, so I ran towards him, picked up his wheelchair and was spinning it above my head.. Then I tossed him through a wall.

That's the end of that

If anything is every scary in a dream I find the best way is to hug it and don't let it go for a while, even kiss it if you want... maybe going to far depending what it is lol. I know it kind of sounds stupid but I have read a lot about it. Direct ALL your love to it because it's really part of you, you created it it's your mind. And I always think that it loves me back, you might even fell it hugging you back, and you will probably end up being best mates. Or it is so evil it will be destroyed by my powerful love HE AH HA HA HA

Hello flight,

Yes, you are right on that score. However, this approach - "love towards all, fear none, hate none" - requires consciously building up in one's intentions and attitude during waking hours. By continuously dwelling on this theme in the conscious mind, the thought percolates down to the subconscious (phenomenologically speaking), and becomes part of our core personality.

Once this happens, then whether the object of one's fear / hatred / scorn is before us in real reality or in lucid reality, our response is always that of love! And in both the situations, I am told, the outcome is the same. The fear / hatred / scorn in both the parties dissolve away.

Just my two pence.

Cheers,
Sanjay.

Once in a non-lucid dream I was attacked by zombies, and I saw two zombie chicks. They were acting hostile at first, but in a while I ended up fucking them, haha. It was a foolish decision to do when not aware of the dreaming state, but at least it was nice. Usually if I face a foe in a lucid or non-lucid dream I will kill him/it/her, though.

I used to have a nightmare of being chased by a creature through a forest. I dreamt it quite abit and I was really good at lucid dreaming but I just seemed to keep running in fear which kinda stopped me from knowing I was dreaming. Anyway I started to get annoyed at this because I knew I had the skills to face it and I was usually lucid except for the odd nightmare. So what I did was during the day I would think to myself that I was stronger and tougher than any creature. I said to myself how I would go lucid the next time I was being chased and that I would face it instead of running. I kinda made it my goal to slay it and anything else that would scare me.. I just kept telling myself that and keeping it in my mind more. So its like a form of thinking positive maybe.

Anyway alittle while later I had the nightmare again but this time I instantly went lucid, it was like the fear and my goal triggered me. I basically slayed the creature very quickly too.. I pulled out two uzi's and filled it with lead then spiked it before cutting its head off with my katana. So it was such a turn around from running away and it was just because I kept saying to myself(almost annoyed like)that I was not going to take any crap from anything in MY dreams. Which worked a treat for me and now I rarely have nightmares.
