      Hypnagogic Bug Hallucinations

I suppose I have some strong subconcious fear of bugs, because I often dream about bugs or other things of that nature that are ready to bite or sting me. Except whenever I dream about these particular things it is always after I'm suddenly awakened. I believe these are called hypnagogic hallucinations, and they occur within my real environment, aka my bed.

These hallucinations occur several times a month, typically induced by stress. They are like dreams ocurring directly after sudden waking, but unlike dreams they are always negative, and always a single being that is about to bite me, sting me, etc. They are typically bugs ranging from mosquito hawks to wasps to spiders, but sometimes other creatures like snakes or mice, and occasionally bizarre unclassifiable gadgets and even people.

      heres my most recent experience:
I was awakened from a nap when I saw this little metal wire thing that I for some reason thought was wound up somehow and ready to spring open and cut me or something. I jumped out of bed and pulled all my blankets from one corner of the bed over on top of it and sort of ran out of my room.

I could go on forever with accounts like this, because they happen to me all the time. I'm just wondering if anybody else has had similar experiences

      whoaa

      that's scaryy
i started laughing at first, but then realized that i had an experience like that too.
when i stayed up late one night, this lightbulb started flickering and i screamed and started crying...i don't know why. i'm kind of scared of electricity and things shocking me (i can't change lightbulbs, and i'm scared of hair dryers), just like you're scared of things stinging you or biting you or what not.
so i guess they're pretty similar
