So I saw this thing on Nightline the other night that talked about nightmares. They had this psychologist who studies nightmares in particular talk about how to break the loop of recurring nightmares:

Basically, he said to "rescript" the nightmare, giving it a different ending that you find more comfortable. To do this, you're supposed to run the recurring dream as it occurs naturally through your mind while you're awake. Once you've got it fixed in your mind, you simply imagine how it is you would like the dream to end instead. You run this series of imagined events through your mind throughout the day and, eventually, the loop of recurrence will be broken.

Now I don't have recurring nightmares, but I just thought I would share it here with those of you who do.

Plus I'm a bit skeptical that it could be quite that easy. Anyone with recurring nightmares care to prove or disprove this?
