      My Recurring Nightmare

I started having these back since i was about 5 years old. it started with me in the backseat of my parents' car and one of them would be driving on a desolate road, no cars nothing.

but then, in a blink of an eye, they would disappear and i would be in the car alone until i woke up. then my sister was born and when i had the dream again about a year late, she was in it and everyone my parents disappeared again. then my brother was born about 2 years after and the same thing happened. i just had another brother a year ago and i haven't had that dream...yet.

(Not sure if this would be relevant or not, but i also had one where my parents left us in the car to go do something and my sister took the wheel and drove us into an ocean lol)

Sounds like a fear of abandonment, IMO. Also, if you are expecting that you definitely will have this dream again then you most likely will. If that is the case why not try to make it a positive thing? Do a reality check every time you are in a car. Or some other key part of the dream. Then it will start as a nightmare but when it becomes a lucid dream you can change it to whatever you want or just wake yourself up if you want.

I have had literally the exact same dream patterns. I am the oldest child, and I have two younger sisters.

I was terrified that my parents would abandon me. I was afraid they might die or something, and I would be left to take care of my little sisters by myself.

I agree with what Raven said.
