Weird nightmare last night - machines in my house

Last night, I had a weird dream where Terminator-like machines were taking over, and I didn't know what they were. I thought they were just normal people.
Anyways, my room is at the end of the hallway, my brother's at a 45 degree angle, and my other brother's another 45 degree angle from that. I go to my room, looking for something, with a gun in my hand. I see the room next to me, and my mom and brothers are tied up. I quickly go to the next room and hide in the darkness. The machine walks by (it looks like a normal person). I try to fire the gun, but the trigger won't depress. I realize with horror it's been jammed. The person/cyborg hears something and walks into the room, while I'm still hiding in the dark corner with the gun. I pull the slide back, pull he hammer back (not sure what that was supposed to do) and after enough messing around, got it to fire. It hit the person, and he shimmered silver before his outer layer (a hologram) disappeared and revealed the robot. I fire until my clip's empty, and it throws me against the opposite wall. I'm laying on the ground, looking at it, begging and pleading. I tell it "if you have to kill me, just put a bullet in my brain!". But I look in horror and realize it's only got a hammer in one hand. In extreme terror, I get an adrenaline rush and some part of me convinces my main self I'm dreaming. I struggle until I get my eyes to open.

The part where you mention your struggle to open your eyes sounds familiar. My earliest childhood memory is getting attacked by a dog. I would have nightmares about it for almost 10 years. One night I recognized that I was having the same nightmare. In my sleep, I took my hands and pried my eyes open to waking life.
