      Space-Time. The fourth dimension.

Time is relative to our position in space right? So, very far away, in a seperate galaxy, there would be other life forms (if there are any which I am quite confident there would be) who have existed longer than us in our time, yet, are still in the very early stages of evolving. Problem being, we can't prove this because even if we did find life in another galaxy with a different time perception to us, we would have to get close to it, altering our time perception, therefore it will be like normal.

Shall we discuss the fourth dimension?
need to actually start like trying to LD i've pretty much started that now kinda.

Back in ninth grade, I started a discussion on the very subject in my health class. Unfortunately I don't remember what it was we talked about. Oh well...but I do believe it's time. There was a program recently, on the Discovery Channel, I think, that involved the fourth dimension. Aside from that, it did involve an parallel worlds and how we're all connected somehow. It was a pretty neat piece, I suggest you watch it.

They also mentioned how the dimensions allow us to move in certain ways. The second dimension, I believe, is left and right, and the third allows up and down movements. The fourth could be related to time; the time it takes to move or something like that. There were others which were speculated to be like frames of every single movement and piece of the larger picture. It's a little hard to explain, but extremely interesting.

The first dimention is a single point in space,
The second dimension is lines, planes, and shapes formed by these.
The third dimention is depth or figures created by shapes in more than two dimentions.
      The fourth is time.

Think of it this way, first; a point or points, second; points forming lines and lines formng a square, third; six squares forming a cube.

Now if a cube was brought into existance but then brought out of existance in that EXACT moment then it would not have truly existed therefore time is the last dimention needed to bring about the existance of a cube.

He means the fourth spatial dimension.

Furthermore, how a person experiences time is not related to his "position" in space. I think what you mean is that there are some galaxies that since the big bang have been moving faster, and speed affects time, so they experience time differently.

Time also can be affected by mass, not just speed. In fact, it is speed that causes mass. Allow me to elaborate.

Imagine the space-time continuum as a long fabric. Now, something with a lot of mass sits on this fabric, and causes it to curve inwards. It takes something longer to travel over a curve than if the fabric had been straight. Therefore time takes longer.

Now, objects moving at incredibly high speeds actually gain mass. The energy required to move objects to very high speeds actually is converted into mass by the equation e=mc^2. Thus, a person moving at a very high speed, or in a galaxy that is moving very fast, will experience time slower than someone in a galaxy that is not moving as fast.

oops, so that explains why they say 3 dimentions PLUS time.... you learn something new everyday.

      Hello im 16 and Venezuelan.

Ok the fouth dimension is time, But time isnt possibly affected by mass, why, becouse mass is inside time, Ok,

Take a perfect two dimensional plane, perfect means that t has no depht, unlike ... a sheet of paper, that is probably the first thing you think of when you think of a plane, a infinite amount of two dimensional planes, could fit in a three dimensional cube, right, by logic then an infinite amount of three dimensional cbes could exist inside a fourth dimension, that is the only way paralel universes can exist, becouse, an infinite amount of infinite universes, can perfectly exist at the same time,

mass is not created by speed, its created by speed AND energy, energy is not created, it simply transforms itself, time does not depend on the possition in space, nor speed, speed, alters the perception of time, not time itself, but why is time linear, whence space that has one less dimension can be traveleed back and forth, time can be travled in one dimension only, time, does not change anything, its just the moment when things happen, time does not affect people, or matter at all, what does affect matter and people is the constant interchange of energy. between matter and the universe.

There is another topic on this if you seacg for it.. Here is one ---> http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic....ourth+dimension
I saved a site that I researched on the 4th dimension and it seemed to help by giving some graphic images to try and put it into perspective.
It is still a stretch, theories.
