Philosophically; to ask the ? what is time, is to ask who are we, where did we come from, and most importantly where are we going. It is our innate desire to control our destiny, so psychologically, to know time would be to determine our outcome void of chance. But is there really a chance outcome in anyone or anything. Many ancient to modern thinkers, asked ?'s toward who we are, where we're going, and where we came from. Many of these thinkers knew that at some point people would understand much more than they did, or do at their current times.

Ok! Time to me is 1 that's ONE. Why one, take a look at your hand right now, yes the one on the keyboard, you can shrink at one billion times the speed of light and never stop shrinking into your hand (the one on the keyboard) and in fact it would appear as a universe very quickly where the atoms would be multiverses and so on to things we humans have not begun to fathom. (or have we?) Likewise you could expand at that same rate for ever and your hand would appear as a atom's atom's atom's atom etc. etc. etc.

Anyway my point is time is infinity not infinite, infinity. Infinity is only one, the absence there of is 0, nothing, and because "nothing" dose not exist there is something.
This could be why during the dreaming state time is usually not thought of unless one feels they don't have enough of it then they may do something like trying to create more of it, or that they fear it as something that will harm them.

A little joke I like to tell people about time............Why did "God" invent time?
....................So everything dose not have to happen all at once.

Time is the nothing but a word used by human beings to describe the laws of thermodynamics. As the universe expands, it becomes more and more disordered. For this reason, humans say that time is moving forward. The only way for us to observe time is by viewing these laws. For example, when a coffee mug falls off a table, we see it shatter into fragments.
