What religion would you NOT follow?

It came to me in a dream last night:

What values and ethics does a religion you wouldn't follow have? And, is your own religion guilty of that??

Things I thought of were possibly no chance of an afterlife, you're doomed to go to hell, you must kill your first born, etc.

What are some stipulations you would never follow?

      don't do religion.
i would rather follow my own path, however am always open minded to suggestions and views etc.

it's best to remain flucid, like water, so you never find yourself stuck.

have a very set opinion and you may find yourself open to attack and lose precious time fighting a battle you need not to.
This reality is like a goldfish bowl. The dreamworld is the same, but larger. It's easy to get lost.

There is some kind of tibetan religion called the Shites or something...and basically they cannot knowingly hurt ANY living thing, so the brush the ground infront of them when they walk, and watch every movement...that would suck...kill the maggots!

      Where, where, where?!!

      Oh.

      >What values and ethics does a religion you wouldn't follow have? And, is >your own religion guilty of that??

Values: "self indulgence/self worship." (Satanism and Humanism, among many others...)

As far as I checked, religion cannot be "guilty" of something. PEOPLE or PERSONS can be guilty... There are large ranges of values and beliefs within each "religion" so I would not say "Christianity" or "Islam" or "Paganism" (etc.) is guilty of this or that. Not to mention, such a claim would be loaded... (the only thing they would be "guilty" of is having a different set of beliefs than the accuser).

"Threatening damnation to hell"... If it is true, then no one would be guilty in doing so. (In fact, it would be a good thing for someone to do so) If threatening is done in a heart of certainty regarding judgment, they would be indeed guilty (of assuming God's authority). O'nus: I'm wondering what the relevence of yer avatar is and if there are any ties to a particular religion?

I will not follow any religeon that requires the following of me:

      1. To commit intellectual suicide
      2. To blindly follow
      3. That takes from me my free will
      4. That requires me to hate or be cruel to my fellow man

Nope. It is a drawing created by the band "Godspeed You ! Black Emperor" Which solely represents "Hope"

The belief is simply that a majority of religions rely on hope, and that a majority of peoples lives are entirely focused upon hopes and dreams. Good or bad? Depends on the individual.

Just to clarify: I hardly ever express my own views and opinions, and so far, havn't truly done so. I simply propose questions and opinions in the devils advocate manner to perpetuate an interesting conversation; not an arguement.

With that said, I hope no one is offended by my statements.

I believe in Christ. that's all I believe in. I've accepted Jesus as my Lord and Personal Saviour. when I die, I will go to heaven. that's what I believe. nothing else. if someone believes something different, I don't hate them. I don't dislike them.
