      Reasons for dreams?

I was reading another thread and I got an idea. What if dreams where made to occupy you mind while your brain does it thing while you sleep. You spend all day larning stuff, seeing thing and experiencing things. Then you go 8 hours stright without anything? Seems kind of boring so maybe you mind creates dreams for you so you got something to do. Makes sense for me.

I believe it goes much deeper than that... I mean why would it have to be dreaming? Most of our dreams consist of things that happen earlier in our day sometimes they are completely random. I think that it will be a long time until we complete understand what happens to us at night. As long as there’s people like us (dreamers) then we will find out.

I heard it as sometime like Werburn said. It's the brain sorting out your day and random stuff leak through and become your dreams.

Few years ago (before getting into LDing) I had a "theory" that dream

merges your day experience with existing experiences. It creates one big

movie. An analogy may be made with archiving files on the computer.

Now I dont belive it anymore. Nor do I care. I just want my LD

I never see things that happen during the day in a dream. I have however more than a few times noticed things that happened a week ago appear in dreams. A week is a pretty big delay though if you brain is sorting stuff out, maybe its backedup.
