It's on the "outside." If you haven't already taken it, it's too late.

i just remembered this reading through this thread.did you know that if you have a dream that seems like it lasted ten years or so and you dream every day of that ten years when you wake up you will go insane because your brain can not hold and store that much memory from a single night of sleep?

That's not correct. Even if a dream had ten years of high density experience, it would not all get stored in memory. And even if it was all stored, the capacity of the human brain is, for all practical purposes, unlimited. Also, whenever the brain gets memory overload it just starts forgetting recent memories. It doesn't "go insane", and that wouldn't make sense anyway.

I'm not very intelligent and I'm having this dream...

Makes you wonder how smart you'd really have to be to be able to virtualize the universe for a single point of existence. You wouldn't need to do the entire universe, you could just wing most of it with aggregation, the more distant the less calculations. Quite finite and possible in that sense. The hard part would be holding it all together. God knows when I'm dreaming, keeping things consistent is difficult to say the least. But is the human brain powerful enough to do this? Someone should get on that...

I was at this talk the other day and for a split second I felt my brain thinking like that. It was... an odd head to be stuck in for that split second. Something like waking up to a nuclear shockwave enveloping your house. Good times, but definitely better off without them.

But he didn't know if he was Zhuāng Zǐ who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming he was Zhuāng Zǐ. Or, whatever.

I actually made a thread similar to this one. Maybe I should revive mine since I have new ideas to my theory...
