Dub, that is an extremely well expressed explanation of determinism vs. free will.

PhilosopherStoned, you must have missed where I answered your questions about choice and accountability and so forth. The girl is "free" only in terms of how I let her brain do its thing and don't force it into a decision I make myself. However, her decision making process does not involve "free will" in terms of what I have defined and Dub just explained. What she ends up deciding was set in stone even before the sun was formed.

Alric, I don't see how what you said proves free will. Of course a last cause is a more proximate cause, but it is still determined. Please answer this...
