Bible grossly mistranslated. Dudes figure out how to translate Hebrew accurately.

A lot of mentions of "the supreme ones" in the commandments and alike.

This is hillarious.

Is the mistranslation inaccurate enough to completely alter modern Christians conception of their faith? Or is it just a couple words here and there that were mistranslated? I couldnt find the info.

At first gander, it seems like there's a substantial difference. Christians probably won't change their beliefs though. It doesn't matter. The Bible is just a buzzword, it means nothing in reality to them.

To me the Bible seems like an empty vessel that people project themselves into.

Well technically, Sloth misspelled "misspelled" as "mispeld" rather than misspelling "mispeld", so really you misspelled "misspelled misspelled", misspelling "misspelled misspelled [as mispeld]"" as "misspelled mispeld".

The funny thing is most Christians (that I know of) haven't even sat down and read the whole Bible. Not even knowing what's in the book you claim to follow? Uhhhh

I think it's funnny because one of the main points on the site, is that much of the Bible isn't really up for interpretation, which changes everything, and that is hillarious to me. But maybe that doesn't matter when we've been following this model for 2000 years now hurr durr

So why do you buy into that? If some guy who has invested the better half of his professional career publishing books for Britain's Healthcare system and has never been known previously to have any formidable background knowledge in the areas of Hebrew or Ancient Hebrew or Phoenician script for that matter, ultimately says he has found the "missing link" something that a multitude of theologian scholars who have invested their entire works of studies and careers would've obviously missed in their field of expertise. Does that even seem remotely logical to you? Why do you buy into that to the point where you feel like it changes everything? What is it, that this particular individual has done in the past that gives you so much confidence and trust in what he is delivering?

I read some of the research, it all seemed very convincing. The research team also is composed of people with skills that make sense in the context of figuring out old languages. I know I should take this all with a grain of salt. I'm still keeping an eye on it though, as it could turn out to be very interesting.

I haven't "bought" into anything though, as this doesn't really matter that much to me. I would love to for it to be true though, as that would just go even further to invalidate most of the Christian religion, which also has a lot of consequences for Islam, as they are basically the same religion.

I can understand where you're coming from. I guess the main discrepancy from what I see is the translation of one Hebrew word to mean "supreme ones" as in plural. However, it wouldn't invalidate anything considering the Bible supports that there were 3 that took a part in the creation of all that exist.
