So are you saying that all us atheists are merely Catholics in disguise?
Or am i being too simplistic?
Weird, how, i don't consider myself religious, yet i find myself interested in it...
Maybe i am a 'closet' catholic...
No.
I was contrasting Atheists with Catholics, hoping by that contrast to draw some Atheists into some appreciation for the Empirical Realities of the Blessed Virgin. Yes, I know that there is not a very fat chance of ever convincing an Atheist that he or she should fairly research the Documentation that validates the Apparitions of the Blessed Virgin, but, still, it was the material for what was a halfway coherent Essay, written as much for the joy of writing an essay, as to actually convince anybody of anything that they would rather not be dragged into recognizing, kicking and screaming the whole time
Or perhaps I should do a re-write of the essay, since it did not seem to present too clearly to you. It was written a while back and published on a Religious Page, and it may have been a bit hurried. I'll have to review it a bit. I may have depended on prior references from previous posts on that Page, with which the people here would be entirely unfamiliar.
Oh, and wait! You're Irish! You must either be Catholic, or have Catholicism in your Blood going all the way back to Saint Patrick of the 6th Century. Indeed, The Blessed Virgin loves no other people on Earth as much as She loves the Irish. In fact there was one unique Apparition of the Blessed Virgin in which She totally dispensed with Her usual style of dress and appeared donning a White Gown heavily trimmed with Green and displaying Shamrocks all about. Indeed, if the Virgin had to choose between being Jewish or being Irish, one hardly knows what She would prefer.
And, you, Irishcream, as naughty as you are from time to time, I know that underneath it all your really are a very good Catholic Girl. On the Day of Judgment, if any Angel should give you trouble, simply tell them that I vouch for you -- that you may have been somewhat remiss in your observations of Catholic Ceremony, but that Leo Volont had done enough for the both of us.
