there's nothing strange about finding enormous similarities between religions...in fact, i think that should make it obvious that they're all really just a different culture's view of the same thing. whether or not jesus existed is irrelevant. someone existed who put the ideas down, and after a few thousand years the document (probably only a very small portion still the same as the original) still exists. it's interesting to note that jesus is not the only one to preach universal love and all-is-oneness--siddartha said the same thing. i'm less familiar with the qur'an, but i wouldn't be surprised to learn of similar concepts.
