what's everyone believe?

I guess I could just read through every post and every reply, but instead I'll just open up a topic that's probably been done 100 times before. sound good?

So what do you believe? I don't care about what you don't believe, I just want to know what you do. Let's not take this time to bash what other people believe either, I am just curious as to where people fall in their religious beliefs. I am very interested in learning about different beliefs, simply for curiosity. So let's hear it. And don't just give a name, be specific!
Let the seeds of your subconscious sprout into unadulterated imagination...

I believe in the 12 universes and the rule of Satan I dont belive he is the great evil people say as god has caused genicide, murder and more pain and sufferign than anything that has existed and all satan( or lucifer the name I prefer to use) has done is to try and stop him, that is my belief that and that pain is what guides our lives not love or religion
Life dreams and pain are all of the same thing in one way or another they are all unreal as they are existant they define the way you see things something very few can figure out

i believe in the universe. the universe just being a name for everything that exists. i believe that is what god is a personification of. i think every religion is ultimately the same, and just differs in perceptions and ceremony. i share the belief that is espoused by the major monotheistic strains that "all is one."

I'm atheist. Although it's obvious that I'm wrong to think that. By God's very nature - not measurable in any form - the only correct answer in my opinon to "Is God real?" is "I don't know". But, for me, the fact that religion is all too convinent as a coping mechanism/controller of the masses makes me think atheism is probably the best choice.

I'm a complete and utter atheist. I don't believe in religion or any form of spirituality.

However, I do believe in a kind of odd socio-cultural-historical (for want of a better word) version of reincarnation. I wouldn't strictly call that a spiritual or religious belief, however.

I believe that an all powerful pie came first came down from the pastry heavens and made contact with a caveman by teaching him the ways of fire. Then, the pie proceeded to guide us along the pastry way. We began to know more and more pie as we began to cook with fire, then eventually bake with fire. One day, in the heart of spring (March 14 to be precise), an unnamed man filled bread with fillings. The PIE had manifested upon Earth in physical form to spread his works. The PIE's channeler (he was not the maker, as the PIE has always been made) was Earth's first Pastry chef.
Thus saith the first chapter of the great book .

Our continuing goal is to eat pie. Quoth pie: You are what you eat. This of course means that our ultimate goal is to become one with the pie and become a god ourself. We begin again by coming down as a form of pie, and adding to the collective diety that is PIE.

....EAT PIE! Muffins are sins, as tempting as they are.
Sinners, repent and eat pie! Our sins will be purged in the great oven.

Ever heard the poem
"Little Jack Horner sat in the corner,
Eating a Christmas pie:
He put in his thumb, and pulled out a plum,
And said, “What a good boy am I!”

Many people are baffled trying to determine the meaning, but whilst eating pie, he had reached enlightenment. That is the meaning of the nursery rhyme, which was begun to convert.

...yes, I spent WAAAAY too long coming up with that off the top of my head. However, that one sounds sooo much better than to say that I'm Christian, or saying that there's a chance that the afterlife is a big game, the losers get reincarnated and the winners become gods or reach enlightenment... we choose teams by choosing a religion. Christians have the biggest team thus far.

Dear Benjah,

I believe in the virtual Divinity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and that Jesus was Her Son, and had been intended to be the Messiah, but was murdered instead. Humanity's Rejection of the Messiah effected not Salvation but rather brought a Curse upon Mankind. Note all of the Wars, Plagues, Famines and Disasters that have occurred subsequent to the Murder of Jesus... certainly no sign of God Forgiving anybody any Sins.

I believe that Satan followed up on his victory in defeating the Messiah by bringing to the World the Anti-Christ who was the False Apostle Paul. Paul taught an Opposite Doctrine to what Christ had taught. There can be no Salvation based on Forgiveness of Sin, because Heaven cannot condone Sin. Only Satan can condone Sin.

I believe that there are several Higher Religions, valid before Heaven, God and the Goddess Apparitions. I believe Divine Revelation has been continuous. There have been many Goddess Apparitions, and many of these Apparitions have been Marian, but not limited to the Marian Catholic Traditions.

Zoroastrianism, Sufism, Mahayana Buddhism, Yoga, Vedanta Hinduism, along with the Marian Catholic Traditions and those of the Non-Paulist Religious Orders... these are all valid before Divinity.

Religion is proven by its Saints. Saints are Men of Miracles. What I believe a Saint to be is, metaphorically, a fruit of the Vine of Christ. This is not Christ as the Historical Jesus, but Christ in terms of the Cosmic Christ.

An Angel came to me in a Vision and told me that "Birth is but an illusion, and Christ is the Life in All Things". This Cosmic Christ is the Life and Spirit in every one of the valid Higher Religions. There needs to be no specific Belief in a particular History, but only a Correct Intent in the Heart and Spirit.

Christ does not be be identified in History, but only needs to be Discerned by the Heart and the Spirit.

I believe in nihilism...more specifically I believe in "nothing" (wait that doesn't make sense does it lol? fine! I believe in 1 thing, "nothing"...moving on), I have no loyalties, and no purpose. I'm extremely skeptical of everything ...(btw including nihilism..) and subjectivism is my friend yay (oh snap is this a second belief?). As well I could say I'm an existential nihilist, which begins with the idea that the world is without meaning and purpose and given this circumstance existence itself, all action, suffering, and feeling is ultimately senseless and empty. (this is quite a cheery belief isn't it?)

btw my homeboy Bill Shakespeare tells what existential nihilism is all about in Macbeth:

Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more; it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

...

So when we look past illusions we create (existence before essence right?), life is revealed as nothing and I'm left with this belief in "nothing" (aka nihilism)...We are "thrown" into the universe, never knowing why...so some people invent meaning, follow ideologies or some stupid blind faith joke like Catholicism…both are good i guess for some people except for the amount of harm historically caused. yay you get an afterlife!...religion always makes me wonder how a joke could kill so many people?)

...

uh yah that may or may not have made sense i live for the moment (aka don't read over my posts usually. ) this is just some beliefs i was thinking at this time, look for the ~~\o/~~~/\~~~ Manifesto someday...((hopefully it turns out to be of post-post-modernity )) ...Btw what do you think? (im Sure someone could rip apart my belief, i'd probably agree with you if you did...)

EDIT: I just read the original post and realized that the auther said "I don't care about what you don't believe, I just want to know what you do." but my belief is that I don't believe in any beliefs? meaning by claiming what I do believe I'm claiming what I don't believe and wasn't supposed to do that...hmm. fuck. it.

I don't meander in any specific labels and my beliefs travel around a lot, and yet stay the same. In the end I've held the same beliefs as a child as I do now, I've jsut become much better at explaining them, and drifted through different labels.

I believe the universe and all within it is strongly connected in a spiritual way, and that everything we do has a profound, unseen effect on the world around us. I believe that all life is connected, and that Science and logic fall short of comprehending the true nature of life.

I believe existence comes before essence, and that it is human's nature to find meaning, but that humans don't have the proper form of intellect to find any meaning through it. I believe there are probably multiple planes of existence, and there is probably an astral plane, but to me there isn't really an afterlife, and these planes act mostly as silent effectors, sort of like a stage, and one plane is the back stage, having a silent effect on the foreground. Then again... their may be an afterlife, but it'd be something completely unlike our complete consciousness continuing a journey. I think ghosts are energies, not spirits, though they are energies containing memories of events that took place in many cases.

I'm sort of existentialist though in that I think humans could never, for certain, claim what certain things are, like God, existence, consciousness, humans will never figure them out.

Currently though I favor the title, "Romanticism" which means to give the universe the benefit of the doubt.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

I'm Atheist - although I take this to actually mean 'without god/gods'more than 'sure of the non-existance of god/gods".
I think that the possibility of the existance of deities like God, Allah, Zeus, Thor - that is, deities with near-human like plans and desires, is exceptionally small. If I was shown that they existed, this wouldn't change my way of living - I think that the existence of this kind of beings has absolutely nothing to do with the way we should lead our lives(though everyone's obviously free to do what he wants, as he long as he doesn't bother others), since, even if these beings are all-powerful and created us, this doesn't give them the right to use us as playthings and give us weird, strange orders and rules - I wonder if any decent human, if he could have had the chance, wouldn't have created a better world instead of just having some 'plan'that might or might not finally give eternal happiness to the people who believed and worshipped in him like the tyrant he would be, while sending all others to some kind of hell. On the other side, I have no particular objection to a non-personal deity, like a an all-encompassing spirit or force or the 'God of Philosopers'.
As for morals and ethics, and my general outlook on the meaning of life, you could say I'm an Existentialist.
- I believe that life and the universe have no inherent sense in themselves, though they operate by objective rules. There's no specific reason why humans cannot give themselves a meaning to their life - this could be pure Hedonism or any other practice, or you could just life for life's sake and be your meaning.
I also believe people should be able to do everything they want with their lives, bodies and minds, as long as this doesn't cause direct and/or intentional damage to others.
I hope that wasn't too big of a post - it's not too complex if you read it slowly, though.

I believe there is a sense in this life - which I am trying to make out for me - otherwise: if there is no meaning to all of this, humanity wouldn't be alive no more, life wouldn't be worth it to be lived.
Religion is curable.

I believe there is more to this planet then what science can explain. I'm not saying that I don't believe in science but I think there is stuff in this universe that can't be explained. I believe in life after death as one of my mum's friends "legally died" if thats what its called while in an operation for a few minutes and in that time she could look down at her body and see the doctors saying they were losing her.

I'm also a christian and do believe in a life force like God.

Just a note, Neavo, but near-death experiences are common and have been explained several times. They're actually quite close to dreaming--they pick up heavily on subconscious clues and worries, and incorporate sensory input into them.

I believe the world is here only by chance. The universe is never-ending becaue humans will be extint before a way to measure it could be created. Nothing controls us except for ourselves. i also believe that people need religion because they need to know that something/one is watching them, helping them, and promising something better.
