What does Religion mean to you?

Hey, I'm just interested in what people think of as their religion... do they have a highly personal relation with their God, or is it more worshipful, or what? Don't feel you have to be Christian, but please don't post if you're an atheist. Please also include what religion you follow

Again, this is not to debate whether God exists or not, so no flaming.

Are you asking what Religion am I? or What does the concept of religion mean to me?

Religion to me is a clear set of beliefs about a life that surpasses our current human experience.

As for what Religion am I:

I am a Catholic who just recently transfered to a Catholic university from a secular school. I am Catholic for the only reason that anyone should be a religion, because they believe it to be true. I would be happy to discuss Catholic views about anything with anyone, so long as it is kept civil.

As for what you hinted at when you asked "Do you think that you have to be Christian", I think that is asking who I think makes it to heaven.

There are three theological virtues: faith, hope, and love.

I hope that everyone gets to heaven, but that is not my call. I leave that to God, and hope that he is merciful to all.

With that in mind, I think we should live the life that he has called us to live, again, I believe this to be a good Catholic life, not only in beliefs, but also in good Christian living.

I think he means what is your relationship with God.

I'm not religious but i can imagination what the religionship would be like. It would be blissful, you know that a perfect ultimate being has spent his time just to make you, he cares for you individually as well as your entire planet as a whole. Whats more when you die, assuming your going to heaven, you will actually get to meet this amazing being and soent eternity trying to grasp what he is because he is just so mind blowing.

Not at the same time i am content with our race just being an advanced form of animal really, lol i live my life to the full, however i want, then die, thats about it, but thats fine for me.

So i see why religious people would want to convert others, i mean who wouldn't want to share this gift they have recieved.
