lol Alien vs Predator, i doubt he got it from that. If it came from any sci-fi program it would be Stargate-SG1 or Atlantis. LMAO im still paranoid that the American government has a Stargate and make that program so that if someone ever does see an alien ship. The FBI can say" Oh it just a meteor burning up in earths orbit" or " Lol you watched too much Stargate mate" or " oh its a prop thing for Stargate, lol not that the Goa'uld are attacking us... he..."

I suppose what you have to think about is. Humans have developed vessels capable of space travel, albeit not any manned craft that can leave the solar system, let alone the galaxy, in any realistic time span. But we are working on it. Lets say humans evolved 5000 years earlier, so we were 5000 years ahead in technology then we are now, we will have much faster vessels, i mean those plans for nuclear powered vessels can supposedly get them to 12% of the speed of light, yes again still too low for other star systems, but fast enough for travel around our solar system. In 5000 we may have faster then light travel, you never know. I mean 100 years ago no one imagined this internet where we could access this online connection around the world. They may invent something we can't fathom at the moment.

So what if an Alien population around another solar system in our galaxy evolved 10000 years ago? They may have fast ships and they would explore like we will do.

The words in red were all in the movie and were explained the same way. Oh and we don't even know if it is the ark because the Turkish government wont let us enter. No they're not, you can't travel faster than light, because the speed of light is the same for everyone. So if you travel near the speed of light then light's speed relative to you is the same, therefore time must be slower for everyone else. It's one of the fundamental facts of physics and only a few small number of scientists think it can be broken.

Oh and yes, obviously there is no 'ark' and there are no new metals, we've already found all the stable elements for each possible number of protons per atom.

Scientists are working on creating a bubble in space with a strange matter barrier. The interior of the bubble, lacking substance, would be able to move faster than the speed of light, and there would be no motion inside the bubble so the rules of relativity would not apply. You can read more about it here and here. These sites also talk about Photon tunneling experiments in which data has been clocked at traveling up to 4.7 times the speed of light. These experiments have been done and it has been shown that it is possible to move faster than the speed of light.

You must bare in mind that the sub-atomic world behaves very differently to the larger world.

i stilldon;t understand why travelling faster then the speed of light isn't allowed.

I mean before we broke it people probably assumed going faster then the speed of sound would have negative effects somehow.

Wouldn't going faster then the light just mean either you wont see the stars anymore or they will look like long lines or something. I don;t understand why faster then light=time travel.

I mean i know your meant to age slower in space, so i guess they mean one year at light speed travel means 1000s of years on earth right? Why is this exactly?
