The facades of God, in my opinion, are the myriad ways that a religion is used to justify a predetermined objective, doubly so when the objective is forbidden by that religion. The facade, then, is not the misguided logic of believers, but the cultural protection that abusers of religion receive from their beliefs.
Religion is used as a shield by the wicked, protecting them against all forms of punishment, whereas virtuous believers only receive protection from their own impulses to do evil, if they receive any protection at all. It's no surprise that religion is commonly used to justify wrongdoing.
That's my view, anyway.
