      Oh boy, where to begin...

First, I seriously doubt the story is true at all. No university is going to have a prof teaching an entire semester of why God doesn't exist. That can be accomplished in a two hour colloquium. This sounds like one of those Christian fantasies that we hear all the time about the evil, completely over-the-top atheist doing something ridiculous and unthinkable, and then the brave Christian comes in at the end and saves the day by saying, "JESUS!". This actually reminds me a lot of those Chick comics.

The other reason I doubt the truthfulness of this is that it makes no sense, as a story. Here is a professor, top of his faculty, powerful reputation, has supposedly taught a course dozens of times, where he proves a hundred different ways that God doesn't exist, and then a piece of chalk slips, and he runs out of the room? How realistic is that? Come on...And then the students, who have seen a hundred proofs of why God doesn't exist, all of a sudden start praying to Jesus? Really?...Really?

And then there's the stuff it says after the little "story". Oh brother...

"1. Pretend you never read this; 2. PRAISE THE LORD!": How about 3: It's fucking retarded and juvenile and I have critical thinking skills?

"People wonder why the world's going to hell": I don't wonder. I know. It's religious people.

"We believe the newspaper but question the bible": Well, the bible can't go out of print if it publishes an editorial on why child rape is good for the family. Newspapers can.

"Everyone wants to go to heaven": Not if you're there. Also, if you really think about it, eternal life in heaven isn't really a good option. I would take oblivion any day of the week.

"When you send chainmail about the LORD, people don't spread it": Yeah, because some people have decency and the ability to recognize when they're making people uncomfortable, unlike you thumpers.

"JESUS is suppressed": Hey, you had your chance. The middle ages. You blew it. Big time. The world has moved on.

"Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about other people not liking me than God": Yeah, well for starters, you can see the other people. And maybe if you weren't so hot on God you would treat them a little better.

At one point after I had read the bible, tons of christian apologetic books, and a few critical religious books, I began to have serious doubts about Christianity; The religion I had been brought up in since day one. Things just didn't make sense. I talked to my preacher about it and every Christian person I knew but none of them could quell the contradictions and serious flaws I found in the Bible and my religion. I read about the story in the Bible where the boy asked god to show him a sign to prove he was real, and god showed him one. I thought that God loved me just as much as he did that boy from the Bible, and that he would really want to show me that he is real, so I prayed for over an hour asking him to show me a sign. Just a piece of cloth under a book in my bookset. That's all I wanted and I would believe. Just a small sign like that. After the hour of praying, with full faith that a piece of cloth would be there, I looked and nothing was to be found.

If god knew I was having that many doubts about my religion at the time because of the flaws I had found, and loved me as much as he said, then he would have shown me a sign if he existed.

After all, he made that chalk fumble.

And the boy in the bible got the exact sign he asked for. And it was much more miraculous than a piece of cloth under a book.

I guess he just loves those people more than me, right?

If the Christian God did exist, he'd be an uncaring asshole that chooses his select few that he wanted to provide evidence too. And I would be on his hate list.

      ._.

      I'm a cigeratte, hehe.

Listen to DZK again, he'll show you the way.

EDIT: I'm just now starting to watch the video, his question was "If you still believe in Jesus, stand up." Lololol. Jesus isn't even a God, so if he was trying to prove God doesn't exist, why did he say Jesus?

A bad thing with the Trinity is that if Jesus and God are the same, then Jesus wasn't actually "born in the flesh," or whatever the crap says. A God isn't "born of flesh."

That teacher fails, and the video fails anyways. ._.

Maybe, but I think religion shouldn't be in schools. Whether it's a teacher trying to prove God exists or doesn't, or it's some teacher wanting to preach, nothing to do with religion should come out of a teacher's mouth in school, or be discussed by teacher/student. Unless, it's a private chat or something. If I went to a school where a teacher tried to prove God doesn't exist or does exist, I'd probably tell him/her to shut up and teach something real. Until he/she can get some cold hard proof God doesn't exist, he/she shouldn't be opening his/her pooper.

There is no proof either way of God existing or not, so people should just zip their poopers up.

EDIT: On second thought, this video does prove something. Let this video be an eye opener to you people:

Spoiler for Truth behind the video.:

ROFL. That video was hilarious. "The evil atheist against the humble Christian in. . . THE CHALK THAT DIDN'T BREAK! In a theater near you"

And please tell me that no one actually believes this really happened.

Even if it was real it just shows how much of a fool the professor and student both were. Not the professor's fault his carrying skill isn't >9,000.

Agreed. But the story is just so damn stupid it's not in the least bit credible. A professor teaching a class about disproving a god? No students standing up to him even though America is 80% ish religious? No one standing up at the end of the semester when he asked his question? For 20 years???? Yeah, okay. If this story has any glimmer of truth to it, it probably involves an atheist professor who would drop in innuendos during a history class or something in which a student challenged him on it one day. And that's a huge IF. Most likely it is a complete fabrication.

Hehe, also in the video it first says his question is about believing in "Jesus," then it's "God."

there are greater spiritual paths out there that are far superior to Christianity. Christianity would have you believe God is some where up on a cloud looking down at you, judging you, and never answering your prayers

The answer Christianity would have given you to explain this event is
      1. do not tempt God
      2. you did not have enough faith

another spiritual faith would tell you the answer was simply, God did not want to answer a prayer based on the idea that God is separate from you sitting on a cloud, as that would be damaging to any spiritual path. the real spiritual path is realizing that God is already present in you

you don't have to have blind faith or blind hope in this like the Christians do. many have experienced this god-reality of the self first hand

What a piece of crap video. Obviously made-up Christian fiction. With some horrible music to go along with it. Concluding: Christians are idiots.

What use is believing in a God that you can't be.

That takes the fun out of playing monopoly.
