Does Christianity allow non-Christians into heaven?

Well i can't remember all the verses related to judgement and all that. Reason i ask is that i was browsing through a translation Qu'ran at school, got some scared looks by fellow Classmates(Christian), some telling me not to read it like it was evil or something.

Anyway although the translation was not amazing it clearly stated near the start that the Muslims(obviously) would enter paradise but then that the Jew, Christians and I believe the words were "virtuous ones", would also enter heaven. later in the book it began to explain Christianity and other religions and split off's from the mixing of ancient wisdom and other complex stuff which is warped slightly by the men of the west, far east etc. It did go a little negative on Christians/Jews and others but never once seemed to refute what was stated earlier on, that Christians would still be allowed into paradise. Now obviously I must be missing something since all these Muslim extremists hate Christians, although i think it is the West they hate not the faith it self.

Anyway what does the Bible say about those of other faiths, I guess the new testament not old just so we can be 100% clear it applies to today's Christians.

The bible says that you can only get to God through Jesus. Thus, if you're not a "true" christian then you can't get to Heaven.

So yeah, all non-christians are thrown in a pit to burn for all eternity.

i thought so too... so their is no way around it? If you do not love Jesus and accept him as your saviour your doomed?

What were the rules before Jesus then, in the OT? Was that judgement on deeds or did no one ever go to heaven before the coming of Jesus?

There was the Law given to the Jews which included ritual sacrifices to atone for sins as well as the observance of holy days, holidays, feasts, etc.

Catholics still believe in Purgatory and possibly some protestant denominations. Maybe Lutherans (?).

Makes you wonder when god edited the book of how you get to heaven, because what he just ran things differently before Jesus?

      Like really....
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

As Elis D had quoted, Jesus is "the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father," but by Jesus.

Essentially this means, do as Jesus would do. You do not have to be a super-christian or whatever, you can follow your own spiritual path etc. But understand that the way of Love and forgiveness is very powerful. Without Love, there is no way into Heaven.

yes but Jesus doesn't seem to just be saying behave like me, you have to accept Jesus as your saviour, as your God basically. Since God and Jesus are the same being.

Since I like KFC, chinese takeaways as longs they involve chicken etc. Maybe I should turn Muslim? Their paradise has all types of birds to eat, nothing else but meh I'm ok on chicken and turkey then there's rivers of milk and honey so hopefully I can find some tea tress or ask Allah for some tetley's tea bags and make a cuppa. Then all those lovely virgins..I guess I get 72,42 what ever the number is replacements after I've de-virginised the ones I have? Although there's so many different looking women after a while your getting ones that look the same, so maybe I'll keep some as perm ones?

although tbh i don't even have to become a Muslim I just have to be virtuous as according to the translated Qu'ran I should be ok, in fact all Gods apart from YHWH who seem to consider being kind and virtuosi enough to enter their heaven will be fighting to let me in.

But you do believe that according to the majority of Christians you have to accept Jesus as your personal savior and acknowledge blindly that he is the creator of everything right?

If yes, then only Christians get to heaven.

If heaven is full of Christians, I don't want to go there.

So this means that, by the traditional Christian definintion of heaven, I can basically do whatever I want and still get into heaven as long as I just accept Jesus?

      This doesn't add up here.

No, there is no "personal" savior. The savior is the Way of Jesus, hence The Way of Love. That's why you don't need Jesus in your closet.

That is protestant belief, on the other hand Catholics believe any of the Judiac beliefs, or anybody of good works can get into heaven. Christians believe that faith is the most important over good works.

The Christian bible teaches faith over good works. Because faith is something you need in order for God to...I guess watch you/protect you while your living your life.

Althought it's faith over good works, good works is teached heavily as well.

      Well thy neighbor

      Honor thy father and mother

      and al that good stuff.

So it's faith and yet teaches good works.

Wrong that is not a Protestant belief, my family has been protestants all their lives and they are not the church that believes that.

You are thinking about born agains, not protestants.

I'll look for the warmest fire.

It's astonishing how literally people sometimes read things (not talking about you, ClassyElf, I just quoted your text because, even though you do not seem to believe it, it is what many Christians do believe). Equally, there are religious extremists who take the words "Jesus has come to Earth to make us rich" (or something similar) literally, so wealth is taken to be an indicator of people's moral values. Something similar has happened here, Jesus certainly did not mean his own person when he said that only through him one enters heaven. Rather he meant it as a state of mind, I would presume, or the essence of mind.

      Peace
