      KidTurk's Lucid Macine R&D -- 3 Month Experiment

      Informal Summary
      This is my attempt to come up with a curriculum to go from my current very poor dream recall to being able to WILD at will within a 3 month period. I do not know if 3 months is enough time to reach my goal, but I do know that it should be enough time to prove or disprove my methods. I call the project "Lucid Machine" because I see the mind as a machine that needs to be built up, tuned, and skillfully controlled in order to lucid dream.

      The Purpose
      To gain an ability to induce a lucid dream at will from waking state(WILD).

      Assumptions
      1. Lucid Dreaming is when your concious awareness is shifted completely away from this "primary reality" frame and into another subjective one.
      a. In order to move your concious awareness into that of an "inner realm" it first must be removed from the primary one.
      i. In order to move concious awareness to anyplace at will, one must first learn to skillfully control it. (WILD)

      b. Energy levels and concious awareness are intimately tied together. When one has a surplus of energy their ability to absorb information and interact with their invronment is increased. ex. If someone lacks sleep and is suffering from deprivation, the memory, coordination and awareness are all impaired.
      i. The brain functions depend on available energy. Optimal performance requires optimal brain enerygy.
      ii. By improving energy levels here, lucidity in the "inner realm" can be increased.

      c. A and B can be trained/improved.


      Hypothesis
      1. I believe that by learning to control my conciousness and shift my awareness I will be able to Lucid Dream at will directly from the awake state.
      2. I believe that by increasing my energy levels I will increase the quality and clarity of my lucid dreams, along with quality and clarity during the awake state.

      Experiment 1 - Mind Control
      For this portion I will develop my ability to concentrate. For me this means being able to focus on a subject at the exclusion of bacground environment and thoughts.

      Experiemnt 2 - Energy Level
      For this portion I will increase my energy levels through diet, detox, exercise, and possibly energy work.

      Mind Control
      I will be developing my concentration through an exercise I found. It entails looking at the second hand of a wrist watch for as long as possible while excluding all other thoughts. I try ro see how long I can go without losing focus. When a thought creeps I reset and restart my time. I do this exercise for a total of 20 min. My goal is to be able to concentrate in the second hand for 10 straight minutes.

      Energy Level

      For this part I will avoid sugar, wheat, and dairy. These are the things that spike and crash my energy and prevent mental clarity. I will do light weight training 3x a week and 1 HIIT workout a week. For detoxing I will do a supersize msm protocol. In combination with 1000mg vitamin c, I will be taking 3000mg msm in the morning while increasing the dose by 1000mg each day until I reach 25,000mg. Then I will continue at this level for 7 days. I will list the vitamin c source and msm when they arrive in the mail.

      Update 5-19-2013

      Mind Control

      I started doing the exercises in May 1. This morning I was experiencing positive results with controlling my consciousness. I was able to go from dreaming to awake and back to the same dream again. In the past doing this would have been impossible. I really want to see the results at the end of the 3 months. I have also noticed that been able to read dry text for longer periods of time.

      Energy Level
      I start diet changes and working out tomorrow
      I also will receive msm and vitamin c in the mail next week.

      Update 8-24-2013 ---- Planned Revamp

      I am restarting the experiment on Oct. 1. I have gained a new understanding on some things and plan to incorporate them. My previous assumptions still remain the same. For now the outline remains the same
      except that I will not be using the MSM protocol. Instead I will be using a more extensive cleansing kit that I purchased. I have also purchased some Ayurveda products which I will detail and test post cleanse.

      6 months Straight Meditation [ ] Improve Visualization Ability [ ] 100 dream journal entries [ ]

      Lucid Dream 14 nights in a row [ ] Rage at concert on a Space Station [ ]

      Mind Control
      The exercises are not as hard as they used to be. This is a long term thing so not much to update on.

      Energy Level/Mental Clarity
      Wow. Currently at really nice lucidity level. I did part of the kit I bought and my energy levels have noticeably risen. I also started a new method of detoxing heavy metals yesterday. Really noticeable improvement in dream length, quality, and content in one day. I will continue this for this week and next and report.

      Goals
      There is a really good chance I will meet my LD goals this year.
