nicotine patch helps lucidity?

was browsing wikipedia, and i stumbled upon this info: "Due to its stimulation of the nicotonic receptors (mimicking the effects of acetylcholine) it has been reported as a useful tool for the induction of lucid dreams, where a nicotine patch is applied after 4-6 hours of normal sleep and the subject falls back to sleep (into a more REM intense sleep cycle). Non-lucid dreams may become vivid, more memorable and some report a higher frequency of disturbing dreams. I suppose in theory it could work because it is a stimulant, increases your conscious and awareness a little thus giving you a lucid dream, but personally i think that it would not work for alot of people because it would keep them awake, nice find though, a must try for anyone who is quitting smoking

It's not just a stimulant. It's also a hallucinogen. Tobacco has made me hallucinate before. You have to take enormous amounts for this, but it sure works.

My brother had extremely violent and intense dreams when he was using a nicotine patch. Like, way crazier than he ever has normally. I don't think he had even heard of the idea of lucidity at the time, so this wasn't a concern.

I experimented with nicotine patches, they do increase your rem sleep! Also made my dreams more intense *but that was pure from high dosages* Also nightmares if you really overdo it. It never gave me more lds, not that weird cause nicotine mimics our long memory neurotransmittor called acetylcholine and that molecule isnt the onset for a ld in the brain! I tested it a 20 times from light to high dosage patches. I have 2 lds a week when I am not practising for it but it didnt level up the freq of my luciddreams in a month.

Personally i think you should only try this if you are actually quitting smoking, because its still similar to smoking, it just cuts down your craving for nicotine, so i'd only recommend this if you are actually quitting smoking because you don't want to get addicted to nicotine patches. Seriously, don't use things that could have a negative affect on you.

Well it depends, nicotine is addicting and a serious warning about that is on its place! But its not so that if you would test it once only you notice any addiction effect, thats only so if you try it like for a week *several times*. But the warning is a good one, I forgot to mention it, its true, nicotine isnt candy to play around with! But I wouldnt even try it anyway cause i never experienced that it gave more lucid dreams.

This particular 'formula' for lucidity was brought up in this thread regarding Galantamine and Choline. There are safer and healthier alternatives to aid the chances for lucidity than taking something like a nicotine patch.

If you are addicted to nicotine or not addicted while taking the patch would alter the results.

Yeah, the book I'm reading (signature) his supplements are Galantamine, Choline, GPC, Yhombie (sp), Nicotine, Mucua Purines and other de-sensitisors. I personally am not testing Nictone but am looking forward to the Galantamine and Choline test.
