You could use brown or pink noise instead, as they are "smoother" than white noise. |

Personally it's really hard for me to go to sleep with any noise at all. I'm surprised sometimes that I even go to sleep with the sound of the clock ticking, but of course I get used to that. But any noise that is above the silence I experience as I'm drifting off to sleep startles me awake and it sucks. |

Pink noise only gives you one side of the spectrum. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colors_of_noise for info on the noise types. |

I fall asleep so much with the tv going. I find it funny sometimes at the things I'll say or do when I don't realize that I've fallen asleep. Like once I fell asleep to the soothing sound of my boyfriend on the telephone. Yes I was actually talking to my boyfriend on the phone and I fell asleep a few times. I'd wake up and continue talking like I hadn't even fallen asleep. I can't explain it there. My fiance now says that sometimes I'll fall asleep to the tv and I'll be saying something but he can't make out the words. I've fallen asleep numerous times and actually continued the same thing I was watching on tv in my dreams. Weird huh? I've never actually had a lucid dream from having the tv on when I fall asleep. I might try it with the radio and see how that works. Am I supposed to have an actual radio station or just a background noise? |
