Remind me on the next "sour" week not to eat raw lemons.... Killer on the tongue!

      This doesn't work

Hey I'd Like to say a few things here:

First you have way way way too many variables for this to actually be accurate, and you have so so few people for it to be accurate (I'd say you'd need atleast 40 to be remotely accurate).

Second: Studies were already done on this, Food that upsets your stummuc can alter if the dreams negative or not, but other than that, there are no known physcial alments that would alter dream recall. First off you can't say I remembered 3 dreams last night and another say I only remembered one and he actually remembered an hour of a dream while the other who said he had 3 only remembered a min from each of them. YOu need to add how much detail and time passed that they remembered.

In my opinion this just isn't a very controlled experiment. You need to narrow the feilds and make this experiement last a lot longer.
      Ok I'll stop critisizing now.

      Good-Luck

I agree, that is why the participants are asked to list things like mood and fatigue. I asked for volunteers and would have liked to get 40, but I'll have to work with what I have.

I agree with all you have said, but this is for a 7th grade science fair and is limited in resources, time, and the amount of effort my son is willing to put into this experiment.

Some variables you forgot to mention were:

What type of food? (starch, protein, fruit, etc.)
      Activities during the day?
      Number of hours slept
      Time to bed
      Time arising
      Temperature of room
      Comfort level of bed
      General noise level in bedroom
      Room illumination
Number of trips to the toilet

      Ok

Oh Ok then, I didn't know it was a seventh grade experiment. Thats cool then, I'm sure the results will be interesting...

      Glad you agree,

I couldn't think of anything bitter, either, other than that baking chocolate.....can we say "hesitant"?

Is it too late for me to have a go at it?
The biggest problem I foresee is that we won't know for sure if its something to do with my experiences/environment/biorhythms that causes the changes in dreaming

      Thanks all for helping out.

I'm thinking of restarting this experiment with a little shorter time scale and maybe change the focus a little. Maybe instead of tastes, I'll use something from the different food groups instead and maybe run 3-4 days on each one.

Let me know what you think. Maybe start it up on Nov 29th

I admit it was a long time span and I've forgot to do it. It was a real pain in the ass to get some sorta foods, because our food cupboard follows the general trait of just being a fat store, and so anything "bland" is impossible to get. Anything healthy, well, you're asking for a miracle.

I am thinking of the following categories:

      Meat
      Dairy
      Vegetable
      Grain
      Starch
      Sugar

That will make it quite a bit easier to find something to eat

I'll post more later and see if I can get any interest. I'd like to get at least 10 people participating.
