Raised arm to fall into luciditiy?

I'm going to try a new method of attaining lucidity. I will be going to sleep on my back with one arm raised straight into the air and slightly bent at the elbow. When I drift into sleep my arm should fall which hopefully will jog me into remembering I'm now in a dream state. I will be recording my attempts here, and if anyone would like to help then please feel free to join in. If this method seems to work, I will call it RAILD (Raised arm induced lucid dream).

I briefly tried this technique in the past. I never had any luck with it though. I found it really hard to fall asleep with my arm up in the air.

Yeah that's really the big problem with this, perhaps if you were more tired than usual it'd be easier? I'll try it out tonight and see if I can manage to fall asleep.

Yeah, I think it's a good thing to attempt for a bit, but I don't think it's working for me.

I dunno if this is generic, but I noticed, that when one passes from the waking state to the SP or dreamstate, sometimes a kinda OBE occurs, well acutally I don't know what an OBE is, but what I mean is, that it feels, that if you move, you can feel, two bodies, like the one sleeping in bed and another one, which is attached to the first one by what feels like rubber, so if you try to move, you will move the dreambody, but get your limbs pulled back into the position of where the real limb is, as if both would be attached to one another. This might not be helpful, but an acompanying effect, which I noticed serval times, might come in handy, as it resembles the same technique, which you tried, but with a different approach.

One time I had my lower arm vertical rested against some wall or pillow or slt, and when I transistioned from the waking to SP or something simliar, the dream body limb, fell through the pillow, wall whatever out of the real arm, which instantly made me aware of that I was in a different state of consciousness. I was able after discovering this, to reproduce it at least once again, where one of my arms, fell through the other one.

This should if it works for you solve the problem of putting your arm up high, as I tried this too, and it's imho stupid, because as soon as it would fall, I would wake up from the impact.

Yeah, I would expect you to be woken up as soon as your arm falls.
Try it if you want, but don't get your hopes up.
