Probably The Best Way To LD

You do a RC every time you drink and then don't drink about 6 hours before you go to sleep (so you dream while you're thirsty), you will probably get a dream about drinking something and then fail the RC

Don't be lazy! RC every time you drink!
On my last dream i was dreaming about waking up and going to the kitchen in the middle of the night to drink something so i thought "like i don't know i'm in the f**king reality now" and didn't RC .

It's a clever idea, but labeling it "The Best Way" is a bit too much, isn't it?
Either way, even though I sometimes wake up thirsty, I'm pretty sure I've almost NEVER dreamed about drinking.

EDIT: Also, dehydration is bad mmkay

Yeah I'd probably rather be hydrated and healthy than not have LDs.

Interesting idea. For me, it seems that every time I'm thirsty in a regular dream, I find something to drink. The only problem is, no matter how much I drink in the dream, I remain thirsty. When I wake up, lo and behold, I'm really thirsty. So for me .. this technique might come in handy. At least I'll know that the next time I'm thirsty and take a drink, maybe I can do a RC as well then bingo .. back to Dream~World. I will research this. Logically it seems like a surefire way (for me at least) to go lucid. Of course, like bushi said, I too would rather not go to bed thirsty. The technique would be good on special occasions though when I have to absolutely, positively get to Dream~World ™

It really is weird though in a regular dream for me. In the dream I'm dying of thirst and no amount of anything that I can drink will quench it. It's lucky that I wake up otherwise I really would might die of thirst.

You could condition an RC to anything. Nice idea. I'll try smoking. Refraining from smoking seems less harmful than refraining from drinking.

RC every time you pee too.

I can't count the number of times chunks of my dreams have involved trying to find the bathroom.

I highly doubt that not drinking anything for six hours or so before you sleep is going to affect your health in a negative fashion.

Maybe if you eat some peanut butter and crackers along with a spoonful of salt before you go to bed, that might make the 'xPerience even better.

I agree with Pojmaster. it sounds like a good idea, but It's definitely not going to be the best way to lucid dream. I can almost guarantee I wouldn't dream about getting something to drink because I usually don't dream about anything directly relevant to what was going on that day. But that's just me. My point is, everyone dreams differently so although it sounds like a good idea, nothing's fool proof or will work for everyone, therefore can't be labeled as the best

Good point lagunagirl. That does seem to show that all of us are unique in our dream experiences. Again, for me, this could work because EVERY single time I find myself thirsty in a dream (seeking water) .. I wake up dying of thirst. Somehow the actual body condition (thirst) must somehow work it's way into my dream symbolically. Then again, perhaps not many other people have actually gone into a dream while dying of thirst. That apparently is hard to do because if you're that thirsty, it seems like you'd get up and get water.
Unless .. you're asleep for 7 or 8 hours without interruption.

Yeah, this would be great except I don't have a single recorded instance in my entire, multi-year spanning dream journal of drinking anything in a dream. Ever.

So, sounds like it might be good for other people, but with my record it seems like it wouldn't help that much. There's no guarantee that dehydration will make me dream of drinking.

Good idea, though. I may modify it to create a new RC technique for myself.
