56k modem

Yay! I'll be using a 56k modem this week! It's just fantastically amazing how slow everything can be on the world wide web. Yay! Plz say something encouraging so I'll atleast be able to go through with this, and don't expect me to do many posts or show up on the chat(why does the chat dislike 56k so much?)

I can empathize with you, Henfe...I remember the drudgeries of 56k well. Do you have a pen and some post-its (or sticky notes, or whatever you call them) nearby? What I used to do is doodle while waiting for pages to load and whatnot. If you've got a deck of cards, you could flip them into a hat or play Solitaire also. I know you can get through this! It's only a week; only seven short days. You can make it! Also, you could practice your RCs while pages are loading as well.

Get over it. I've used a 56k for years and if I can download gigabytes of Warez on it, entire South park series, days of music and photoshop, unreal tournament, and all that jazz, then YOU CAN TOO

Yeah, you are damn spoilt. I'm stuck with this grotty stupid thing, in a stupid house where I only want two things (other than the obvious requirements) - 1) A computer. 2) Fast connection. But I don't get all of them. In fact, I get one of these two "want things", and the people in this family are always ilke "I need to got the entire of your massive 3kbs connection. Really, you spoilt brat, you should be giving us this connection all the time!". They should be grateful. Kids my age are usually asking for the SuperHyperPuffySpaceShuttle by now. (Well, that or money to pay bills for the damages - those young hooligans always be smashing windows). ROAR! I once had broadband after yyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaarsssssss of waiting and it was bliss. Now it's gone again. AND I'M BACK TO THE FUCKING STONE AGE. DANG. Woops. Insane man next door just shut his gun again. afk.

One good thing that's come along thanks to this is that I've read two books(collection of gothic sci-fi short stories from the 20's and 30's) in just a couple of days! But everything is still sad, very sad

My aunt has something close to... t17 or at least seems like it and she never even uses it, much less for downloading massive heaps of harddrive food.
