Thread: Life changing decision

If your going to make it big, you definitely need a GIMMICK! Remember the rock group KISS? They themselves admit to not being the greatest musicians in the world, but throw on some makeup and they were the biggest band in the world at one time! Or how about the guy that says "Lets get ready to ruuuuuuuummmmmbllllllee!!!" He copyrighted that saying, by the way, so no other announcer can say that without paying him. He became a millionaire because of 5 measly words!
Don't be a follower of other trends. I'm willing to bet that there were alot of bands that decided to go grunge when that became the big thing. Where did that take them the moment grunge died? Do something exciting and original and people will soon be copying YOU!
And talent alone doesn't cut it. Just ask any tennis player who beat Anna Kournikova who is getting the merchandising deals.
Ever heard of Joe Satriani? Great guitar player. One of the best in the world. But is he selling out arenas? Nope. But Good Charlotte is rolling in the $$$ for playing simple tunes. Why? Because they appeal to the masses.
You also need drive, ambition, and determination. We've all seen movies and documenteries where famous people spent all their waking hours perfecting their craft, where everyone else was hanging out at the mall, out partying, watching tv, or whatever. That takes more sacrifice than most people are willing to give.
So if you want to be famous: have an entertaining gimmick that makes you stand out from everyone else, look good doing it, and make sure you do it in front of as many people as you can. Throw in talent and ambition and you might have a slim chance to be famous. But thats better than NO chance, right?

How about:

"Let's get ready to bundleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

It would be great at the bi-weekly dogpiling event.
