      Wine making!!!!!

Seeker I believe in his newbie introduction said he makes wine. That would take a lot of time and effort no?
But I like a good glass of wine from time to time. Is it worth it?
I know when I buy wine I don't know shit from shanola.

Seeker[/color]I've never made beer, however, this year, I made around 100 gallons of wine! *

All kinds, red, white, strawberry, pear, apple, peach..... *
I canusually bring in a bottle of OK stuff for around 50 cents. *
Costs me around $1.00 per bottle to make the really good quality stuff[/b]

      Hey, I love wine making!

I usually drink 2-3 glasses a night. Sometimes a much as a bottle. Winemaking is not too expensive.

You can buy all the equipment you ned to get started for about $70. Then you should start of with a pre-packaged kit. It will cost you about $40 and will yield about 5 gallons of a really great wine.

My wife bought a started kit for me one christmas. I made a Chianti from kit, it was as good as any good California vintage.

A $40 kit will make 25 bottles. So if you throw in your equipment cost, it comes to about $4.25 a bottle. The quality is equal to a $10-$20 bottle from the store.

Last night, I bottled a 6 gallon batch I made from Welches White-Peach concentrate. I fermented it to about 17% and sweetened it a little. It tastes like a nice Peach flavored Port.
      My cost, $20. That's about $3 a gallon.

PM me if you are interested and we can discus this further!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...
