Lightbulb How about a DV scholarship

I'm agitated at the fact that out of about 95% of the scholarships I searched for, I don't apply to. For every scholarship I find that I would be an eligible candidate for, it seems to be open only to a specific minority race or specific affiliation.

But to my main point. How about DV start up a scholarship fund so they can help pay for my encourage (higher) education

Selfish, I know, but not being an incoming freshmen of white descent seems to not please google

Hey, I could use a little boost too... Brown is hella expensive!

I won the American Visions Award at the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition for my pastel drawing, and what do I get? A $4,000 scholarship! ...to the New Hampshire Institute of Art

Hopefully this National Merit Scholarship nonsense pulls through.

I wouldn't mind one either, I want to go to Columbia, which is nearly impossible considering how expensive it is.

I was in the top 100 out of 2500 students from my class, had a 3.89 GPA, and didn't get anything...I guarantee I'm smarter than some of those people who got them for being part of a select group.

      Gah!

It is all quite unfair. Just like med schools are trying to have half the student body be women. That's great and everything, but it seems to me like they are lowering standards just so they can become socially acceptable or something. We don't need more women doctors!! We need BETTER doctors, regardless of sex! Or race, for that matter! GAAAH!!

Fall down some stairs and apply for disability, save that up and put towards your college education.

I also have a scholarship to my school (it's fee-paying). I get 50% off. Only 3 are handed out to each yeargroup.

2250 is my combined score. I took it twice when I was 13-14, and I figured that was good enough so I didn't take it since.

What did you get one from? I've been looking into different scholarships, and ninety-nine percent of them are either "write an essay about saving the economy of africa" (which I don't know about, and has nothing to do with my scholarly abilities) or like "The Black Female Football Player Who Lives in Pawtucket Scholarship", with some ridiculously specific target group set up that I'm invariably not a part of.

Right now, I'm a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and I have a pastel piece and a photography portfolio going to the national level in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. I'm hoping these will give me some substantial amount of help, but I don't really know what rewards are involved in either

National Merit Scholarship is an accomplishment itself and is resume deserving. And I like your Pawtucket Black Female Football player reference as well. Then it says stuff like "preference given to those who like Diet Mountain Dew over Mountain Dew."

I am honored and everything, but I've already been accepted to Brown University early decision, so I don't really need extra resume stuffers. I need mulah!

Fastweb is supposed to be really good, but for some freaking reason 50% of the scholarships they send me are exclusively for Northeastern students! What's up with that? I specifically listed that I was already accepted (BINDING) to Brown.

Does anyone else get this, or is it because my sister went to NEU?
