Thread: Experimenting with blackhenna tattoos (aka mehndi)...

I went to a South Asian Art and Cuture festival here in Toronto. It was super cool, musicians and other artists from all corners of the globe where on hand. It was very cool.

I decided I wanted to try out some mehndi (henna temporary tattoo). It looks very cool I did it on my hand (huge contrast on my pasty white skin, lol!), I'll post the jpg's later. The henna leave a black crust on your skin where the drawing is and if sweat or moisture comes in contact with that it'll transfer to fabric or other skin in skin/skin contact. Well I went to bed without covering my hand in any way. I ended up with a perfect transfer of the tattoo on my pillow and on my left jaw line....its pretty funny. I must say its on days like these that I am glad I have long hair which can cover the area of my jaw with the design.

If you are ever wanting to rid yourself of a henna tattoo early you must soak the area for 15 mins in salt water and then dry completely. Then wash your face with an exfoliating wash (ie. with grit in it).
