A hypothesis is founded on the basis of observation after a question, which is a type of "evidence", and then is strengthened after testing.

A hypothesis with huge amounts of evidence to the extent that you can't argue with it.

For example the Theory of Evolution and Theory of Gravitation.

Well I don't travel into Offtopic very often, so I can only really address the people in the LDing sections and the chat (to a degree).
I'd have to say the people who learn to LD.... pretty dedicated and open-minded types in general. I disagree with the atheist statement (I'm agnostic, because how the hell can you know anything for sure, hasn't LDing taught you that?), but probably we are for the most part not going to let some pious old people/beliefs dictate us. I'm always impressed with the people who are actively disobeying their super-religious family members/religious leaders to learn to LD.
If you're talking about the specific "types" of members.... the worst are those people who talk about SUPERIOR LEVELS OF SELF-ENLIGHTENMENT or whatever without actually describing/explaining, and then bash everyone else for actually enjoying their LDs and having fun.

Besides the spammers and trolls, these guys are probably the most annoying stereotype to me.
