To leap to her defence, the two middle sections are sometimes combined - they are at my school.

There are 4. Breads and other milled grains, fruits/veggies (plants other than milled grains), meat, and dairy. Candy isn't considered a "food group" because it is not reccomended. In order to have a balanced diet, which is far healthier than going on any fad diet, all 4 major groups need to be included in every meal. I've been eating 3 balanced meals a day along with cardio and weight training and have lost 75 pounds, all without fad diets, or cutting out carbs. My 5th food group would be alcohol.

It's the group that is not essential, it's not part of the balanced four.

The "Four Food Groups" were invented by cattle ranchers. I haven't eaten dead flesh or animal squeezins in a couple of years, and I'm in the best shape of my life.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

Combine the 2nd section's two parts into one, combine the 3rd section's two parts into one, and I'm pretty damn sure you'll get 4 on that table.

...Why are we aruging about food pyramids.

I think the next food group should be the "super ultra mega gross" group. Granted no one would eat from it, but it should still be in existance. It'd be kinda cool, right?

      That "ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!" response was the most hilarious angered response I have ever read....I don't know, the topic itself, the low blow, and the mental picture of how frustrated and angry you were when you read that...that combination is deadly I say...

P.S. You shouldn't take anything said in banter seriously much less anything that wasup says

Nah...I meant in banter...hence the "not taking anything serious and much less what wasup says"

anyway, that's the beauty of banter. Almost everything goes...
